    Description

Hey there, my name is Mia and my 5 kids have just flown the coup so it feels like a good time to open up my home to some lush company and good vibing people!

I am a Somatic Dance and Movement Therapist and Event Manager with a penchant for the Flow Arts, dancing in nature and eating good food.

If you love to do some gentle gardening and healthy cooking, we could find a delicious flow!

My home is large, light and airy with a bush reserve over the road where you can walk to the shops and many options for walking and getting out in nature here.

Bannockburn (Banno to the locals!) is a sweet little town with a small strip of shops and a friendly, welcoming vibe.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

These days it's (almost) just me in my home with friends and family popping by on the regular...it's a space of peace and calm with play and fun intertwined in our days. I go to many community events (locally, as well as across the Greater Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne regions) where you could come along, I run events that you could be part of if you felt to to connect with local people...the sky is the limit!

My skills relate largely to Events, Dance, Mindfulness, Somatics, Flow Arts (I'm a professional Fire Dancer in my spare time!). I love to explore consciousness and understand human relating at a deeper level and am always happy to share what I know and listen for what I don't yet!

I love to open to other people's experience of life, to hear what life is like elsewhere (even in the next door neighbour...humans are so interesting!) Learning what other's experience of life is on a day to day level and particularly from different cultures to my own, is a delicious experience.

  • Help

    Help

The main things I would love help with is a bit of light gardening (I have allergies and it get's hard to do it fully myself but I can get in and help a bit!) and if there's time perhaps some vego cooking if that's your thing.

If you have a penchant for Social Media type stuff, I'd love some input on that every now and then...

If you would like to play with hula hoops and flow toys and dance...well, you've come to the right place! Happy to share skills and expand in repertoire always!

This host offers a language exchange
I love the idea of learning another language though I have no real experience in fully learning another language, just picking up bits and pieces from friends...teach me though please! I love to expand my horizons and I love to share the beauty of the English language with others who are learning!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will have your own light, clean and cosy room, with usually your own bathroom, depending on if I have a friend or family member pop by to stay.

I am vegetarian and sugar free but it's okay if you'd like to eat meat and sugar. If you like cooking vego food, lordy, I'd be in bliss!!

I can provide basics, while any special things you like to eat, you can grab at the local shops.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We have a bunch of nature type stuff to do here, a local library if you enjoy reading, we are 30 minutes from Torquay and Geelong, an hour from Ballarat and Melbourne. We do rely on cars a lot being in the country but I am happy to help you to public transport if you'd like to wander off and explore.

I live a clean and healthy and pretty calm lifestyle, I love learning about others life choices though we probably won't be a great fit if drugs and alcohol are real mainstays of your life.

    Keets

Keets is the family cat, she's an old girl these days, she's a wee bit camera shy. Keets loves a good snuggle when the mood hits and mostly just chills out like a small lizard on a sunny rock...
