    Description

Hi everyone, welcome to our home!
We are a small family consisting of Alexander, Alice and our little boy. We are dedicated to community development based on permaculture.
We live in the small village of Barco, with dreams and projects that have to do with personal, spiritual and community development, and music. We are starting to gather some people around us to create a kind of community in the village. We love the music and the crafts, and the deep connection.

Barco is a very quiet town, where you can take a break from the chaos of the city.
The town has shops and shops to buy everything you need. There are also many natural attractions for hiking, the river and the mountains are close by. In your free time you can do sport in a dreamlike landscape!
The cities of Covilhã and Fundão are 30 minutes away by car. Covilhã can also be reached by bus.

In our village, there is already a permaculture community and we have realised that its principles can be used to strengthen the village and regional community and build not just a farm, but a whole thriving human ecosystem that includes farms and celebrations, spirituality and practicality.

Some of the things we enjoy doing at home, and that you can help us with are:

    · Family life: we try to make it beautiful, joyful and harmonious so that we have something wonderful to share with each other and ourselves. Beautifying the house, singing together, making dinners, etc.
    · Spirituality and healing: we like yoga, tai chi, singing spiritual songs and all things good for the soul. We are also working on setting up a holistic wellness service for the elderly in the village. Alexander, in particular, is passionate about deep unity and spirituality in all areas of life.
    · Gardening: we have a small vegetable and flower garden, many olive trees and, in the future, the possibility of permaculture on the extended family's land.
    · Creation of cooperative enterprises: we are involved in some cooperative enterprises that are starting up here, and we use our management and facilitation skills to help them succeed, we also have some dreams of cooperatives that we would like to start up ourselves that have not yet been officially launched.
    · Musical performances to share joy and connection: Alexander performs spiritual musical performances and takes them to various places, such as old people's homes and yoga centres, and also records videos.
    · Portuguese classes for foreigners: helping people to learn portuguese, and developing our own portuguese language skills so that we can properly connect the community of interested foreigners with the local portuguese community.

We would also love it if you could help us with childcare, house cleaning and cooking.
It would be great if you are interested in spirituality, permaculture or creating a better, less competitive and more cooperative world. If any of this resonates with you and you would like to come and share your days with us, we would be happy to talk to you.
