Description
Hello there! we are looking for volunteers to give us a hand picking organic mangoes from the end of july to the end of August!
We are a family of five: mother Debi, father Sammy three children. We moved to the Village Ramot, next to the kinneret lake, following the desire to be closer to nature and close to the earth by growing healthy yummy nutritious and sustainable food.
We learnt and keep learning Permaculture for several years and we enjoy attempting to apply Permaculture principles and designs to what we do. Our goal is to live a sustainable lifestyle for us and the environment. We spend our time growing an organic mango plantation, a clementines plantation and planting an edible food forest and a vegetable’s garden around the house.
At this point of our lives our children are homeschooling. We will be happy to host volunteers who feel our lifestyle suits them. Hopefully, from the end of July until the end of August we will be picking, packing an dealing with the sale of the mangoes. Its a good season for mangoes lovers (-:Types of help and learning opportunities

Help
During the summer months we mostly pick mangoes, dry and freeze mangoes (-:
Volunteers may join us in our daily tasks which vary according to the seasons. Working with trees in the tree’s nursery, watering trees around the farm, pruning, adding mulch, compost. Building and supporting vegetable raised beds. Sprouting vegetables and fruits seeds to plant later. We also dry fruits and vegetables, and work in a mango plantation. Building or fixing things in the farm, taking turn to clean dishes and help in kitchen duties, etc..
We appreciate creativity and initiative and welcome any ideas you may have to improve our projects.Languages spoken

Food
We are a vegan family because we love life and we believe everyone on the planet deserves a good life :-), we like to think of our farm as a place to celebrate life. That is why we don’t eat meat, fish, milk products, white flour, sugar, milk, manufactured products with artificial additives in them (E numbers, etc), junk food and industrial candies. This is part of our life philosophy. Please do not eat those kind of stuff in public places on the farm.
We eat mainly fresh fruit and vegetables, some nuts and seeds. Roots, whole grains and legumes are also part of our alimentation. We are into healthy sustainable lifestyle.
Attractions around
The sea of Galilee (kineret lake) is available all year long and is at walk distance from our farm (20 minutes down hill). The Golan Area is plenty of nice treks to walk, national parks, springs and beautiful landscapes. The Jordan river is quite close as well. There is a direct bus line from Jerusalem and one from Tel aviv, the bus stop is on the Ramot Junction next to the Village. The closest city is Tveria, we are not so far away to interesting places like the city of Nazareth, Mystical Ztfat, Katzrin, Rosh Pina, Antique Bet Shean and more...A little more information
