Volunteers will have an amazing opportunity to learn about horse rescue and experience life in Nicaragua! They'll get to take care of some adorable animals and learn about veganism. On top of that, they'll also be able to participate in activities at the horse sanctuary and building project. It's going to be a truly unique and fulfilling experience!
Help
Our sanctuary, located in Diriomo, Granada, is a peaceful place surrounded by nature, 20 horses, birds, 6 dogs and 7 cats.
We can host volunteers in a small house. Accommodation is a dormitory or tent (if you bring your own tent or hammock).
Tasks are pretty varied at the farm.
We are looking for people with experience with horses. Put a halter, clean hooves, brush the horses, clean paddocks are skills pretty appreciated.
If you don't have experience with horses, you can also come and help with other tasks, we are at this moment beginning a building project (natural building) and we would love to use your skills in building or farm work. It can be hard and physical work.
Food is provided, but it can change. Only vegan food is allowed at the sanctuary. We respect animals even on our plates.
Given the communal living environment and the responsibilities involved in our project, we have found that volunteers aged 25 and over tend to adapt more easily. They generally have more experience with independent living, communication, and following guidelines, which contributes to a more positive and harmonious experience for everyone. For these reasons, we give preference to volunteers in this age group.
Please note we are NOT riding our horses.Languages spoken
