Description
Hello! I’m an Italian architect that fell in love with Nicaragua while backpacking a few years ago. Now I bought some land on the beach with some very basic amenities and the goal is to build a hostel that is fun and welcoming for all travelers and also an Italian restaurant! I need all kind of help, as the project is at the very beginning and I welcome any skill 😊. The stay will also include many social activities like crafts nights, karaoke nights, river days etc. The land is right in front of the ocean in Pochomil, a lively town filled up with Nicaraguan tourists, gentle surf waves and a wonderful fresh seafood market

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Workawayers will have the chance to take part in the building of something meaningful in the community, supported by the host and local workers. Assisted by them workawayaers will have the chance to learn basic building skill for construction and furniture, and will have the chance to share their own skills with me and the community. The stay will also include activities almost every night to build connections and enjoy the time spent together: bonfires, craft nights, estatic dance and more... Some of the planned activities will also become part of community support, from beach cleaning to spending sunsets at the locals spots to going to the seafood market.

Help
Any help and skill is welcomed as I am at the beginning of the project and the place needs some deep clearing and cleaning up. I do have workers that I trust to build a safe and up to code building, but ideally volunteers and I will take care of finishes, furniture’s building and decor. The ideal volunteers have skills in - carpentry, crafting, furniture building, art, gardening and permaculture and social media. It’s all about travelers building for travelers, sharing knowledge and the goal is to leave this place with skills you didn’t even know you could get! The hours of work will be limited, but hardworking is essential

Accommodation
You will be sleeping in the old house at the property in a shared dorm, or if you prefer alone in a tent. The place was abandoned for a few years so it’s basic and rustic, but if you live to fall asleep with the sound of the waves and wake up right in front of the ocean, that will be no problem. Coffee and tea are provided. You can join communal meals for a small price, often fresh seafood and Italian dishes I personally cook, or use the basic but equipped kitchen for all your meals
