    Description

    Hi! :)
We’re Marie & Joaquin, a French-Spanish couple living in a beautiful house at the foot of a volcano in Villaverde, Fuerteventura, with our sweet dog Iki. We are currently reforming the house and especially the garden, and we’d love your help to bring this little oasis to life! We’re surrounded by nature, great local cafes/restaurants, amazing beaches just 15 minutes away, and a peaceful village vibe we truly love. It’s a perfect spot for anyone who enjoys sun, water (we love diving, surfing and being in the water in general - yes, there is a pool, haha), and a healthy, joyful lifestyle. You'll be part of a relaxed, friendly, and fun atmosphere—with room for creativity, shared meals (if you're up for it!), and beach sunsets. We can't wait to meet you! :)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We love connecting with people from around the world and sharing our way of life here in Fuerteventura. You’ll be part of our little family (us and Iki!) and often join us for beach BBQs, hikes, local markets, or even the occasional karaoke night. We’re happy to share what we know about DIY building (this is our third renovation project), local culture and Joaquin can bring you surfing and Marie can bring you diving. We speak English, Spanish, and French (Joaquin is currently learning so that would be a good buddy team if you wanna learn Spanish), and we’re always curious to learn about your language, culture, food, music, and stories. Hosting Workawayers is a chance for us to grow through new perspectives and create meaningful cultural exchanges in a relaxed, open-minded space. It is also a way to keep traveling.. from home! :)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You’ll stay with us in our big, comfy house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite with double beds, 2 twin rooms). The renovation of the inside of the house is finished so it is confortable. The area is super quiet and we are not planning any noisy jobs.
Depending on how many people are here, you may have your own room or share with one other person. We provide everything (sheets, pillows, towels, duvet).
We all live together in the house and share spaces—including the couch with Iki (fair warning!). We have a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ area, plus tea, coffee, and filtered water always available.
We will provide 3 meals a day and you're also welcome to use the kitchen as you wish.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Villaverde is a peaceful, rural village with a local vibe we adore. We’re just 10 mins walk to the supermarket, 7 mins walk to the bus stop, 15 mins drive to amazing beaches and the surf town of Corralejo & Lajares, 5 mins drive to the farmers’ market, 30 mins from the airport.

When we’re not working, you’ll find us surfing, diving, hiking, dancing, working out, doing yoga, enjoying beach BBQs, eating ice cream, and making the most out of life under the sun.

If you’re open-minded, respectful, motivated, and up for a good laugh, we’d love to hear from you. Come help us co-create something beautiful and enjoy island life while you're at it!

We are willing to accept pets although you should be aware that we are reforming a house so there are tools around so your pet should be okay with that and also clean/well educated. Also, Iki, our dog, is a 10 months old female, super playful and loving but still needs education. And she's 23kg!
