    Description

    Children Of The Mushroom,
Vegan Creative Community In Coimbra Region. Portugal

    Be prepared.

We are not like the others.

    BEFORE READING ON YOU SHOULD KNOW;
We have no WIFI. (IT MAY TAKE US A FEW DAYS OR UP TO A WEEKS TIME BEFORE WE HAVE INTERNET ACCESS. Please bare this in mind when messaging)

    We have no signal.
    And don't want either.
We get our water from the mountain.
We have to climb to get home,
    We have no roads.
    We shower outside.
    We bathe in the waterfalls.
    We have a compost toilet.
    We are surrounded by nature,
    Giant Red Deer,
    Razorback Javli Boar and Wolves.

    NO ALCOHOL
    NO HARD DRUGS
NO MEAT OR ANIMAL PRODUCTS OF ANY KIND

We are looking for active, adventurous volunteers to come and join us on our hidden mountain Valley. This one is for the Warriors.
You will know if this is for you, if you can feel a vibration in your chest.
We are building a small, intentional community with shared ideas in our roles with nature, spirit and the tribe.

We are truly trying to live in a way in which we feel Nature wants us to live. We practice openess and honesty. We practice rituals and ceremonies together and explore the magic of plants on our mountain home surrounded by eagles, rivers, waterfalls and forgotten archeology. We like to practice martial arts and there are a few of us who train in different weaponry. Practice archery with us or join us on the river for a 2 day sup board trip. We'll hunt for a wild Tofu burger then camp beneath the stars.
We meditate together. Share in Yoga. We exercize everyday, trying to keep each other motivated. We enjoy fire spinning and flow arts. We teach each other music and encourage each other to explore their passions. We beleive in creating a portal for the new Paradigm to pour into through love, music and art.

Home is a quick climb up the mountain. Bring what you can carry.

If you are someone who needs to be connected.
    Constantly checking your electronic Overlord....
Then this place probably isn't for you...
    Although it definately is...

Ultimately we are hoping to come into contact with other beings who resonate with what we are trying to accomplish here. Whether our paths cross for a short time or wheather you end up building your home here, We believe that whatever is supposed to be exchanged, will be exchanged.

We run a vegan food stall at local markets. Where we also sell trinkets we have made, perform music and sell artwork to raise money for the Homestead. We are building two Tattoo studios right now. A sterile one, and one built for Ritual purposes. We would love to have help for building.
We are also building a sweat lodge. We also need help reclaiming terraces on our mountain home that have been untouched for around a Century. Watering and maintaining the Permaculture of the land is a daily job. More hands mean the ablility to create more produce. We are also rebuilding 2 stone ruins we have found using natural, Earth building techniques. We put on semi regular events in the local area and have a go ahead to start planning the next Mini festival in the near future.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have a couple of large bell tents. A 3m and a 4m. We will make sure they are comfortable for you and the longer you stay the more you can make it feel like your home. If you are cold there is a spare bed in the shared wood cabin.
We have no roads to our land. We have to make a quick climb up a ...fun...route. There will be oats and seeds etc available for breakfast then we share a vegan meal in the evening. If you get hungry through the day we can teach you what to forage. Water comes from an ancient Roman mine deep in the mountain. It is clean and in my opinion magical. It is the best water I have ever tasted. We are around 45 minutes from the nearest town. There is a small shop in a village about an hours walk away which has free wifi and a small cafe.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Work, and I use the term very loosely can be done fairly, through conversation. The weather here can be extreme. So you should be someone who is ok with potentially getting up early and potentially not. The area we live in is breathtaking. Surrounded by ancient Churches, even more ancient Roman forts and even ancientererer carved stone Pictographs. We have a bike you can borrow but you need to be determined....you should be very determined. The closest town is called 'Arganil'. From there it is very easy to get to anywhere you would like to visit in Portugal.
The closest City is called Coimbra, about an hour and a half on a bus from Arganil. We have friends who would love to host you for a night.
