This little fishing village is the typical old style Caribbean village that is sadly becoming a rare experience with over development taking place in the Caribbean region. Seatons is still off the tourist track but close to small inns and B and B style accommodations. What makes this location extra special is that you can meet a local fisherman and the village children simply by walking out the door and experiencing what village life is about, or just meet the plants and sea life and stay perfectly quiet on your own. We are affiliated with other environmental and educational community groups and you could also become involved in other ongoing activities. The program we run is directly related to youth and promoting stewardship of nature, you will interact with youth and help them to become stewards while documenting the process in a beautiful laid back environment.

I am an artist who works with recycled and upcycled materials, the space for the program reflects a close to zero waste lifestyle. Our program introduces circle economy concepts to a local and visiting audience. Current projects focus on getting our web site live, and creating content which includes video, video editing. We also focus on circle economy product design and could use help with the business entrepreneural end. creative skill sets always welcome. Love of nature and children is a must. We created this program in order to create solutions and address the ongoing problem of beach trash and marine debris, our approach is grassroots with consideration to local and cultural traditions. I can send you info on the program if you are interested in learning more.

The house has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths. It is a simple local house built in the 1970s on a large private waterfront property with no other houses imposing. The rooms are small but it is comfortable. There is no air con, the house is cooled by natural breezes and fans, there are bugs and critters living in the garden, if you don’t want them in house you must follow all the house rules for food but as with elsewhere in the tropics you may encounter any number of critters.
The property surrounding is the highlight, you will have full privacy in your backyard where Paddle board, kayak, yoga mats, hammock, and live reef to snorkel. There are tons of trails within walking, which we aim to maintain in our program. This house offers the invitation to slow down and just enjoy the moment. The biggest plus is volunteers will have the house to themselves most of the time except when we have sessions with youth or workshops. I personally feel it is a very healing space and would be beneficial to anyone needing a quiet getaway who enjoys working at their own pace. The garden needs daily care and we would like to expand the growing or organic food aspect. The program started early 2018 so we are still in our beginning stages, every month the focus and goals and tasks change depending on the season in the Caribbean, it’s a very organic process and we are tailoring the tasks to skill sets of volunteers who come forward.
