  ### Last-Minute Availability – From September 1st!
  
  We are currently looking for one or two volunteers who would be available to come and stay with us **from September 1st onwards for a few weeks**.
  
  There will be plenty of things to do, including helping us prepare for the upcoming olive harvest and taking care of some projects around the house and garden.
  
  There might also be the possibility of doing a few days of **home sitting**, looking after our home and animals while we try to take a short holiday for a few days.
  
  If you are available at short notice and interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you!
  
  
  We are looking for friendly, reliable and motivated people who enjoy working outdoors and would be happy to share this experience with us. It will be a great opportunity to experience the olive harvest, help with our daily work, and enjoy some time together in our home and countryside.

  We are a married couple, Stefano and Cristina, who have been living in a country house on the outskirts of Rome for several years, a farmhouse where Cristina's grandparents and then parents lived before us. We are two visual artists and previously lived about 10 years in Berlin. Cristina is also a yoga and Yoga massage teacher. Stefano is a Zazen practitioner for many years. In our country house live with us our beloved dog "Oro" (a big white Italian shepherd dog probably crossed with a golden retriever) three cats (in the garden): mom Cometa and two young cats Pablo and Frieda, and three chicken (Grilde, Eliodora and Pinta)
  
  Our property is located a few kilometers from Rome's metropolitan transportation (METRO-A Battistini and regional train station La Storta/Formello) therefore it is well connected to the center of Rome but it is necessary to have your own transportation to get to these stations. We can provide couple of bikes to get from home to the public transportation.

  On the property we carry out many permaculture gardening and tree-planting projects with a focus on natural farming methods. We are vegetarian and interested in vegan culture and own production of various foods and preserves. Depending on the seasons a variety of fruits and vegetables from our garden are added to our diet.

  Help

  At the moment we are giving priority to requests from couple (friends or lovers) who can come in October until mid November to help us with Olive Harvest. If people apply alone have to be open to share a living space with another Volunteer.
  
  Depending on the periods we will need different forms of help:
  
  1) Home sitting + management of watering plants and feeding cats and chickens (mosy during second half of August and start of September)
  
  
  2) Assistance with farm tasks such as olive picking (October and start of November).
  3) Creative DIY, de cluttering and small building tasks. For example we are trying to de clutter our huge garage, arrange for a wood workshop and setting up a sculpture studio for Cristina. (Other period of the Year).

  Accommodation

  We offer our Workawayers an independent studio apartment with separate access to the large garden. The apartment is equipped with a kitchenette, refrigerator, bathroom with shower, air conditioning, a mezzanine where you can sleep, internet (FWA) and a sofa and television with access to major streaming services.
  The studio apartment is connected to the main buildinf but it is also completely independent.
  
  If we are present we can share some meals, If we are absent (house sitting) we will leave fresh and frozen food available for guests. Since we are vegetarians there is usually no meat in the house for huma consuption.

  What else ...

  Since the main transportation stations to go to the center of Rome are a few kilometers away from the house we strongly recommend that guests come with their own transportation so that they can be free to come and go from the city independently.
  If we are there we can offer rides to train station or center of rome with our car. We also can lend two bikes if you leave a deposit.

  our internet connection is an FWA from Vodafone (no direct fiber arrives here). This is a connection that allows normal internet use of streaming services but not suitable for those who need very large and continuous data streams over time.

  Space for parking camper vans

  There is an area where you can park a van or RV we have outside sinks that you can use but there is no drain for toilets outside.
