    Description

We are Nora (33), Ludovic (42) and Kiwie (the cat, 10) and bought a house in a very beautiful landscape five years ago. We are slowly renovating the old house and working on the garden. It is a very quiet place surrounded by the forest and small mountains. Nearest villages are 6km away. The small river on the picture is 2km away.

For us the ideal would be a stay of one week. We enjoy meeting new people, but we also like a lot of quiet and alone time and so we would like to try hosting Workawayers regularly but for short periods of time.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We like getting to know new people from around the world.
We didn't have much time to explore our surroundings so we can do some of that together, or we can lend you a car to do it by yourself. We don't go to the village or in town much, except when we go to work. In our free time we prefer to stay home because it's lovely and quiet here.

    Help

We are currently looking for help with :
    - cooking/cleaning : we love all kinds of good food and would love for someone to cook for us + we need help with keeping up with the cleaning (windows, dusting, floors).
    - we recently found an big old pile of waste that was competely hidden by vegetation. The owners of the time dumped tin cans, glass and plastic bottles there, probably at a time where there was no garbage collection. It all needs to be sorted by material and brought to the recycing center.
    - there is a big old water stone reservoir that needs to be cleaned (shovel the layer of humus at the bottom, so we can use it in the garden).
    - there are always small tasks in the garden: watering, harvesting...

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will stay in a part of the house where the renovations are not finished, so it's a bit like camping inside the house. If you're allergic to dust and acarids you will not be happy because we can't keep the "construction site" clean. But the room you will stay in is finished. We have not started on the kitchen and bathroom so they are very old-fashioned.

We don't eat a lot of meat. We're not vegetarians but if you are, we can go without meat during your stay, without problem.
We eat only organic foods, as Ludo works in an organic grocery shop, and I work for a private eco-label. It's important to us to use the least unnatural products possible, to preserve the beauty of the world.

We only have dry toilets, and compost everything. We hope that won't make you uncomfortable.

There is little cellphone reception: only in some parts of the garden.
Recently we also have had problems with the landline, so there is only little internet, on and off.

    What else ...

We don't get up very early and don't have a fixed eating schedule: we usually just eat when we're hungry.
We will sit down together for dinner, but breakfast and lunch are taken independently.
We work full-time outside of home, so you will work autonomously for the most part, after we agree on the tasks.
