Peter and Doreen’s farm is in an incredibly beautiful area, surrounded by mountains, tall evergreens and sunset views that will take your breath away. They are a charming, straightforward couple and I immensely enjoyed the discussions we shared around the dinner table in their cozy cabin within the glow of a woodstove fire. In just the few days we

I had the privilege of looking after their farm for 4.5 weeks while they were on vacation, with the help of a friend who visited for a few of those weeks. The workload was reasonable; they provided good instruction and ensured I had plenty of wood to keep warm. This was my first off-grid, rustic experience and I loved it! It’s a humbling experience and makes one realize how little we need to live and to be happy. This is not a location for the faint of heart and those addicted to modern conveniences, but if you are seeking a chance to disconnect and rediscover the true value of life, you could find no better place! The bonus is Eddy, their gorgeous brown lab and constant companion. He was my fierce protector and literally the sweetest and most obedient dog I ever encountered. Peter and Doreen are the most genuine, hard-working, down-to-earth couple and I wish them all the best!

Agnes stayed at our place for good 6 weeks . She is a very communicative person and very responsible when doing chores we asked for. Always willing to help and to learn new things. We had very interesting chats together and got jobs done as needed.
She took care of our farm for a month as a housesitter very well and we are greatful to meet her in

I stayed 1,5 month with Doreen and Peter. The first 10 days with them, and one month alone housesitting their completely off-grid farm. I really had such a good time with Doreen and Peter! We shared sooo delicious home cooked meals each night always accompanied with an interesting and inspiring chat around the table. I learned lots of new skills

Naima and Jack spent two months at our homestead with our animals and us. Both have an amazing work ethic and we really appreciate what we got done together. They are both hard workers and open to get stuff done and to learn how things are coming together on a farm. They did chores like steeling eggs from the chicken, dishes and cleaning the horse

We had good times during working hours and after, when we spent time in the cabin, for meals, conversation or playing games. Of course a few drinks after big days we all enjoyed.......
It's been nice to see, other people enjoy our simple lifestyle in Yukons remoteness. It is very complex and always interesting to see how different personalities act.
Thank you very much Naima and Jack for choosing us and having a good time together. We wish you both all the best and good luck for your future plans. It's gonna be a long way.

We stayed 2 months with Peter and Doreen in their property in the Yukon. I don't know where to start, but we had one of the best experience of our trip living with them. Sometimes it is hard work but it is always rewarded with amazing food, and cosy meals. We had our own tiny house which was perfect for privacy and on our days off we could go to

Peter and Doreen have such an inspiring alternative life style, and they share every single aspect of it. It is "off the grid" yes, and there is no running water or wifi, but it is actually so fascinating to see how we don't need these things to feel confortable, and it is also a nice way to learn how to consume differently and better.
We spent hours talking, playing cards, listening their stories from the bush and wildlife encounters, drinking some beers and sometimes cooking together. We had good laughs and we will always keep a great memory of our time with them.
We already miss the 6 horses and Stinkssss. Thank you for everything Peter and Doreen, we will see you again hopefully ❤️You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Peter and Doreen are really welcoming, down to earth people and know how to make someone feel like home.
I was there for 6 weeks and looked after the animals for 4 weeks by myself, therefore they showed me around the area and instructed me properly how to take care of all necessary things during the whole first week. (e.g. water supply/ cleaning

Their hospitality is great and they didn't mind teaching me some stuff (e.g. baking bread) 😉
All in all, it was amazing workaway experience and I can definitely recommend it.
In case someone wants to experience Canada off the grid, this is the right place to go.
Peter and Doreen, thank you both for being so generous and for ensuring that my first off the grid experience was so amazing. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

James and I both worked on the farm in the Yukon for around a month and what a month it was! Doreen and Pete are the most down to earth couple, who's hospitality is second to none. If you work hard, you get treated well!
The homemade food was incredible and without doubt the stay on the ranch was a highlight of our trip to Alaska. Thank you Doreen

Dear Doreen and Peter,
thank you for the nice time that I could spend and share at your place. You both took always good care about me, I got the best meet and homemade good cocked food. I trained my muscles with peeling logs, helping with firewood and carried water for the horses. I enjoyed the remote, simple and quiet place. Thank you for
