We are a small organic pepper farm in Kep, in Phnom Voar region, the place where one of the best peppers in the world is grown.
The owner, Sothy, is Khmer woman and also English teacher. Very easy going and open minded and she cooks awesome food.
The farm itself is very calm, out of the main busy places, although many visitors come here everyday (you can join our free tour!) and there is a lot of work to do so we appreciate any help.
We are one of the members of the Kampot Pepper Promotion Association. As such, it contributes to the economic well-being and growth of the Province of Kep, through its production of pepper, but also as a provider of employment on the farm, as well as for people working in the tourism industry, tour operating companies who organize tours to visit the farm, and also many tuk-tuk drivers catering for tourists. The farm provides tours with explanations to the visitors from more than 70 countries. They carried some pepper home, and also their experience in Kep. The pepper is sold on the local market, but to a larger extent to international tourists visiting, and it is exported to an increasing number of countries.

Many visitors come here everyday and there is a lot of stuff to do.
We need always some hands to help so we kindly appreciate volunteers who can stay here at least 1 week.
Tasks can be any of the following:
- Giving the free tour to the visitors (15-30 mins) in the languages you know (specially if you speak English, French or Russian). This can be only done for those volunteers who stay here longer so they can explain how everything works.
- Harvesting (between March and May).
- Drying, sorting, packing and labeling the pepper (all the year).
- Watering, tying, taking care of the plants (all the year but specially in rainy season, from June to September).
- Other works that must be done sometimes.
In exchange for 4-5 hours of work (1 day off per week) we can offer you accommodation and food (it's not staff food, but the one of our local restaurant). You'll also enjoy here the farm style of life in a laid-back environment.
If you're interested, please write us with your details: what dates are you coming, how many of you, what can you do for helping and any doubt.
P.S.: Sometimes the visitors give tips to the tour guides. Those tips must be for all those who work for the tour, like the staff being photographed and so one. They are all gathered and divided between all staff after some months so they can have an extra money. We hope you can understand we don't include volunteers in those tips even when you're receiving them. The salary we can give to the staff is not much and that money will help them much more than to you. Additionally volunteers use to be just some days and they receive much better food than what the staff can eat normally. Thanks for your understanding and collaboration.
The accommodation is flexible depending on the availability and it can be in a bungalow or in a building. Both of them have a double bed with mosquito net. The bungalow has additionally a single bed without mosquito net.
None of them have electricity or hot water to date. The main building has electricity and you can charge there your devices. The shower is khmer style (a big bucket of water). You'll have drinking water to take whenever you want to, of course.
Be aware that this is a farm and there are any kind of domestic animals (chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, cows) but also wild animals like spiders, frogs, toads, tuk-kais (big geckos), ants, flies, mosquitoes, etc.
Both accommodation places are clean but we cannot avoid spiders, tuk-kais, geckos and so on come in your room. That's nature. But don't worry, they run away from you!
The place is very calm, 20km from Kep Beach so you can take our bicycles to go there if you want to. Around there are also some caves, lakes and salt fields to visit.
You can also take a boat in Kep and go to the Rabbit Island to relax even more or hike in the mountains around or in the Kep National Park.
We have internet connection although the signal is not very good here.
