    Description

Hi, my name is Athena. I’m originally from San Francisco, CA, and have been living in Montalcino, Tuscany, for over 20 years. My husband and I, along with our two daughters (11 and 16 years old), live on our winery,, in the stunning countryside outside the famous wine region of Montalcino, about 40 minutes south of Siena, Tuscany.

I am also a professional Irish fiddle player, while my husband Mario has been involved in art for decades. Our home is filled with creativity, music, gatherings, and great food. As a professional winery, we host tours and tastings almost daily, as well as serve lunches by appointment. We have a dedicated team of seven full-time staff members working at the winery, so we are not looking for help with winemaking or fieldwork. Instead, we are seeking support with photography, video editing, website updates, cooking, cleaning, and general assistance with our day-to-day operations. This includes light gardening and some childcare assistance, particularly picking up our children from school.

We are in the process of building a new WordPress website and would greatly appreciate help with content creation, including photography, video production, and marketing materials for both the winery and my consulting business, WineWellness. The role also involves assisting with maintaining the home and tasting room, light meal preparation, and general housekeeping to keep everything tidy and welcoming for visitors.

Our home is a vibrant, welcoming place that blends family life with a passion for wine, music, and hospitality. Being a small, family-owned winery, there is always something to do, from gardening to capturing the beauty of our vineyard through photography and video. If you are creative, organized, and excited about an immersive experience in the heart of Tuscany, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are open to both individuals and couples. We provide a private, fully equipped two-bedroom mobile home with a kitchen, bathroom, and living area. The home is located near our main house but offers privacy, along with breathtaking views of the rolling Tuscan hills.
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, as picking up our children from school is part of the role, and you may also want to borrow a car to explore the surrounding area.

We speak English at home but also use Italian frequently, so this is a great opportunity to practice both languages. We are looking for independent, self-sufficient individuals or couples who enjoy both privacy and socializing with us. If you love photography, videography, cooking, and the idea of living on a winery, we would love to hear from you!

Our property is truly breathtaking, situated on top of a hill in Montalcino with 360-degree views of the Tuscan countryside. As an award-winning winery, we have been crafting exceptional wines for decades, offering a deep dive into the world of viticulture. In addition to the vineyards, we maintain extensive gardens, care for bees, two goats, a horse, a dog, and a cat, making this a wonderful opportunity for those who love nature and animals.

While English is primarily spoken in our home, we are all fluent in Italian and are happy to help you improve your Italian language skills through daily conversation and immersive experiences. You will also have the opportunity to learn about winemaking, tasting techniques, food pairing, and traditional Tuscan cooking using fresh, local ingredients. Whether you're interested in hands-on experience in winery operations, gardening, or honing your photography and videography skills, you will gain valuable knowledge in a variety of disciplines while embracing the beauty of rural Tuscany.

Beyond the winery, I am also launching a new business called Wine Wellness, which is dedicated to incorporating exquisite wine into a healthy Mediterranean lifestyle. As part of your stay, you will have the unique opportunity to learn from my expertise as a meditation teacher, life coach, wine and food pairing expert, and musician. This experience will provide insights into holistic well-being, mindful living, and the balance of fine wine with a nourishing lifestyle. If you have an interest in wellness, mindfulness, and personal development, this will be an incredibly enriching experience for you.
