Here you can disconnect and reconnect with what is essential. During your stay, you will be part of a team that values collaborative work and sustainability. We love that our volunteers not only collaborate in the maintenance and operation of the place, but also enjoy the peace and beauty that the Widow's house offers. In return, we offer an authentic experience, learning about the care of sustainable accommodations in direct contact with nature.

An authentic experience is offered to those looking to immerse themselves in Uruguayan culture in an incomparable natural setting. By staying with us, you will have the opportunity to interact with locals who know the history of the area and who are happy to share their knowledge of the culture and traditions of the Punta del Diablo resort. You will be able to learn about Uruguayan coastal life, from its gastronomy, which includes typical dishes such as barbecue and fresh seafood, to the local stories surrounding this mystical and charming place. In addition, if you enjoy nature, you will discover the unique biodiversity of the region, from its dunes and beaches to the nearby natural parks. We value the exchange of ideas and experiences, and we are open to learning from you too. Whether through conversations sharing a mate or exploring the surroundings together, the familiar and close atmosphere will allow you to get to know the Uruguayan way of life in depth. In addition, if you are interested in sustainability, we implement eco-friendly practices that you can learn and take with you to your future projects. This will be a space where you can not only work, but also grow culturally and share experiences with people from all over the world.

Al hospedarte con nosotros, tendrás la oportunidad de interactuar con locales que conocen la historia de la zona y que están encantados de compartir sus conocimientos sobre la cultura y tradiciones del balneario Punta del Diablo.
Podrás aprender sobre la vida costera de Uruguay, desde su gastronomía, que incluye platos típicos como el asado y productos frescos del mar, hasta las historias locales que rodean este místico y encantador lugar. Además, si disfrutas de la naturaleza, descubrirás la biodiversidad única de la región, desde sus dunas y playas hasta los parques naturales cercanos.
Nosotros valoramos el intercambio de ideas y experiencias, y estamos abiertos a aprender de ti también. Ya sea a través de charlas compartiendo un mate o explorando juntos los alrededores, el ambiente familiar y cercano te permitirá conocer más a fondo el estilo de vida uruguayo.

What kind of help are we looking for?
At our place, we are looking for volunteers who are willing to help in different areas of our project. We would like to host a male volunteer to take care of maintenance-related tasks, including painting and small repairs. These tasks are essential to keep our facilities in perfect condition, and we are open to sharing knowledge regarding maintenance techniques and sustainable solutions that we implement at the lodge. On the other hand, we would love to have a female volunteer to help with cleaning and decorating tasks. We are looking for someone with attention to detail, who enjoys beautifying the spaces and maintaining a welcoming environment for our guests. We prefer to host a couple, as this would facilitate the teamwork dynamic, allowing them to enjoy the full Casa experience together. We like to work as a team and are always open to learning from each other, sharing ideas and experiences. By working together, you will not only contribute to the maintenance of the place, but you will also learn about how we manage a sustainable accommodation space, surrounded by nature.
¿Qué tipo de ayuda estamos buscando?
En nuestro lugar, buscamos voluntarios que estén dispuestos a ayudar en distintas áreas de nuestro proyecto. Nos gustaría recibir a un voluntario masculino que se encargue de tareas relacionadas con el mantenimiento, incluyendo pintura y pequeñas refacciones. Estas tareas son esenciales para mantener nuestras instalaciones en perfectas condiciones, y estamos abiertos a compartir conocimientos en cuanto a técnicas de mantenimiento y soluciones sustentables que implementamos en la estancia.
Por otro lado, nos encantaría contar con una voluntaria femenina que colabore en las tareas de limpieza y decoración. Buscamos a alguien con atención al detalle, que disfrute de embellecer los espacios y mantener un ambiente acogedor para nuestros huéspedes. Preferimos recibir a una pareja, ya que esto facilitaría la dinámica de trabajo en equipo, permitiéndoles disfrutar juntos de la experiencia completa en Casa.
Nos gusta trabajar en equipo y siempre estamos abiertos a aprender mutuamente, compartiendo ideas y experiencias. Al trabajar juntos, no solo contribuiremos al mantenimiento del lugar, sino que también aprenderás sobre cómo gestionamos un espacio de alojamiento sustentable, rodeado de naturaleza.

Accommodation
Accommodations available for volunteers
We offer two accommodation options for our volunteers. One of them is the Lighthouse Keeper's House, located in a truly spectacular location facing the sea. This accommodation is a unique space, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the tranquility that only such a special place can offer. However, due to its availability, we cannot always guarantee this accommodation, but if you are lucky enough to stay there, it will be an unforgettable experience. The other option is a duplex located 4 km from the house, on the entrance road. This duplex has all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay: electricity, gas, drinking water, shower, and a private room where you can rest peacefully after your day's activities. It is a practical and cozy option, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the natural environment that surrounds us.
Food
We value fair exchange. In exchange for 5 hours of help a day, 5 days a week, we offer our volunteers three meals a day. These can be prepared together or we provide the necessary ingredients so they can cook their own dishes.
We want you to enjoy a balanced and nutritious diet, and we always include fresh and local products in the meals, such as fruits, vegetables and bread. In addition, you will have the opportunity to try typical Uruguayan dishes and, if you like to cook, you can share your own recipes with us and our guests.
In this way, we not only contribute to a cultural exchange, but also to an enriching culinary experience during your stay with us.
Alojamientos disponibles para los voluntarios
En Casa, ofrecemos dos opciones de alojamiento para nuestros voluntarios. Una de ellas es la Casa del Guardián del Faro, situada en un lugar verdaderamente espectacular frente al mar. Este alojamiento es un espacio único, rodeado por el sonido de las olas y la tranquilidad que solo un sitio tan especial puede ofrecer. Sin embargo, debido a su disponibilidad, no siempre podemos asegurar este alojamiento, pero si tienes la suerte de quedarte allí, será una experiencia inolvidable.
La otra opción es un dúplex ubicado a 4 km de la casa, en el camino de ingreso. Este dúplex cuenta con todas las comodidades necesarias para una estancia confortable: luz eléctrica, gas, agua potable, ducha, y una habitación privada donde podrás descansar tranquilamente después de tus actividades del día. Es una opción práctica y acogedora, ideal para relajarse y disfrutar del entorno natural que rodea.
