    Description

    Hi,
We live on the countryside in Sörmland, Sweden at a small farm with both a garden and forest to take care of. It is me Stefan with my two daughters, Doris and Ester 9 and 7 years old (every second week) and our dog Zelda who is a Rodesian Ridgeback of 1,5 years. During the summertime we also have cows in our pen close to the house.
We have smaller and larger projects both in the house, in other buildings on the farm, in the forest and in the different garden areas, all this is only for our own household needs and we will find things that match you interests.
When I´m not here at home, I work with lecturers regarding leadership in crisis situations and security in hostile environments and I also work as expedition leader with now 8 times to Kilimanjaro. A season travel guide with now closed to 100 countries visited.

We look forward to have people from all over the world to come live/help us - and in the cottage/guesthouse/ or in the main houses guest room there is room for one person, a couple, 2 friends or a small family.

We have had wokawayers here previous years and they came back for more the following years, so I have been a bit slow on this site. But now I would like to have some visitors even during the autom and winter to see how that works.
I will start in October just after I come back from a guiding trip to Jordan.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are closely connected to the village where we live, for example in the local culture organisation who organize conserts locally during the year. Our children play with their friends close by, many of them also living on a farm with different activiites. We live very close to the nature (mainly the forest which is quite important to us), we are interested in how to live a sustainable life and leave something sustainable to our children. The urban life is though not unfamiliar for us, since I both has lived and worked in Stockholm for many years.

As mentioned before I have been traveling and living abroad for many years - primarily with Doctors Without Borders and through different adventure travel agencies, and are truly interested in other cultures, habits and people living different kinds of lives.

  • Help

    Help

We would like to have help with:
    - gardening, harvest and preparing for the next years planting. Not really much bit I would like to improve..
    - I have planted an orchard with fruit trees that needs irrigation etc
    - there is always things to do around the farm and I will let you pick something you like to do, or things you would like to learn.
You will have full support and I am apparently very good describing and instructing and letting people try new things

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We have several houses on the farm.
The long term plan is to rent some of them out. The one most suited at the moment for you to stay in is an old workers quarter, one bedroom, toilet and a kitchen.
Depending on what you want there is as well a large guest room in the main building if you prefer this one.

The third one is under reconstruction (built in 1870-something) close to the main building, where there is one bedroom with double size bed, a kitchen and a living room - and your own garden.

We would very much see that you have your meals with us, but respect if you prefer to have some of the meals in you own in the other house. Breakfast is a bit early and noisy when kids are leaving for school, so for that one you are on your own...

    What else ...

It is 8 km to the closest small shop, so we live in a quite rural place, but only some 3 minutes bike ride away we have a small country/western village who during summer time offers music shows, daily meals, coffee etc. Several of the farms around offer cafe activities (the typical Swedish "fika"), and not far off there is a stone age village.

    Zelda, Rodesian Ridgeback (1 year)

    A dog with a big D..
She has a lot of energy and can play the whole day if anybody wants to, but she can as well rest in the sun and just keep track on what is going on. She runs around loose but rarely leaves our side. She love to be close.
