    More about us:
The Centre is located on 70 acres woodland grounds a short 10 minute walk from the beach. Located in the English Lake District and home to the first Temple for World Peace in its denomination, it is a popular visitor attraction featuring the Heritage Listed Priory, Cafe and book shop.
Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche lived and taught at the centre for over 30 years and it now hosts a vibrant spiritual community. Our organisation is a not-for-profit registered charity dedicated to realizing Geshe-la's vision for world peace.

    What you can expect:
As a volunteer you are welcome to take part in the spiritual activities at our Centre. We have a variety of classes, meditations and prayers that you can participate in that are suitable for anyone to enjoy, beginners are very welcome. The resident teacher of the Centre is Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, an internationally renowned teacher and NKT Spiritual director.

You will be given dormitory accommodation, vegetarian or vegan meals and classes free of charge. On the 2 days free each week many volunteers travel to see the beautiful Lakes, or just relax in the peaceful atmosphere of the centre. There is plenty of nature with walks through the woods and along the beach, or into Ulverston town centre for shops.
You do not need to be Buddhist to come, everybody is welcome!
