Description
Hi, I'm Irene and I live in Brussels. I regularly need help with my cat Philou when I travel abroad. I’m looking for someone who would enjoy spending time in Brussels while taking loving, attentive care of him. My trips are often short, but I hope to be away for longer periods when possible — in those cases, I would need someone to look after both the house and Philou.
Important to know: Philou is not a low-maintenance cat. Catsitting is sometimes seen as easier or less demanding than dogsitting — but that is definitely not the case with Philou. He truly needs human presence and interaction. He enjoys company and clearly does not like being left alone for long stretches.
This stay is ideal for someone who works from home or plans to spend a lot of time in the house. Philou is quite active in the morning until about 10:30–11:00 and enjoys playing and engaging with his human during that time. Afterward, he takes a long nap until the late afternoon/early evening (around 18:00). The rest of the time — well, he is still a cat: he likes to sleep, eat, and keep a gentle eye on his surroundings.
Philou used to have a strong personality; now he is a sweet senior cat, but he still has his needs and routines that must be respected.
For this reason, this is not the right stay for tourists who plan to leave in the morning and return late in the evening. We are really looking for true cat lovers who appreciate spending quiet time at home and building a warm connection with an affectionate older cat.
If you think you and Philou could be a good match, I’d be happy to hear from you 😊

Accommodation
I live in a House that has 3 floors. As I'm looking for a person that would stay at my place when I'm away, you would use my sleeping room to sleep and have access to the whole house as if it was yours. The house is 80m2 and has a courtyard where you can sit and have a coffee in the summer / with nice weather. The court is shared with the neighbours. Food: you're independent. You can cook in the kitchen.

What else ...
You're the master of your time. Only thing, make sure you are at home as much as possible to stay with Philou who Also needs some medicine in the morning. He likes being with people around, sit on your knees, that kind of cat things :-)

I Also work from home. Same for my partner. The house has a very good internet connection (my partner works with heavy files and no problem with that). Beyond the living room and the sleeping room, we have one room that is used as an office and another space that I use when I'm working from home as well. So basically, 2 quiet desks available, one on ground floor, the other on the second floor of the house.
