Description
I’m a mother of one 23 year old, unfortunately I’ve had a back injury that makes it hard to maintain my large house block and garden.(I have no neighbours on one side).
The block is sloping with the “Best view in The Channon” so the locals say, looking down both Terania and Tuntable creeks.
Terania creek which is a short drive away is the site of the first successful heritage tree protest in the world and a must see. There are several waterfalls in the local area. The Channon market is on the second Sunday of the month and a great day out. There’s always a drumming circle at the end of each market.
It’s a pole house made from local timbers and is situated in the village a short walk from shop tennis court and pub.
I have 4 chickens and my son has a dog who visits once or twice a week.
I’ve worked as a performer and mostly a Clown Dr for the past 25 years, and I’ve lived here for 16 years.

The Channon is renown for strong roots in environmental causes. The friendly community in general has a great awareness on sustainability and community. Situated between Byron Bay and Nimbin you can enjoy the beach and the hills that are dotted with hobby farms between old cattle farms. There are 2 permaculture farms one visible from my deck, the other a ten minute walk away. You can walk to the creeks and there is a huge variety of wildlife in the area, if you’re lucky you may see a Koala in a eucalyptus tree too, or at the oval. There’s wallaby’s lizards and an amazing array of birds. Fish in the creeks platypus and turtles.
I’m happy to share any knowledge I can juggle play ukulele and have clown skills. I would love to know about where you come from or experiences and any skills you have
I’m keen to learn Spanish or Portuguese so that would be a bonus.
Pick up from Lismore, Bangalow or Byron can be arranged.
If at any time you are not happy staying here you may leave and at the same time if I feel it’s not working I will ask the same.
If you have a car there’s much to see, buses are very limited but hitch hiking is easy. There are also FB pages you may ask for lifts for.
If you are working well and I’m available I would take you to see a waterfall, market beach or event.
I play ukulele and juggle and have many clowning skills, I can teach you !
1-2 week stays available.Projects involving children

Help
Hi there!
I’m looking mainly for gardening work and cleaning at the moment. Building or concrete skills a bonus as I have some walls that need rendering and some strips to concrete on the driveway
This would entail digging and moving dirt, mulch plants and help putting in a fence around the vege garden. There’s also weeding, tree trimming and pruning and whippersnipper work.
I also have a shed I need to tidy and make into a useable space.
Cleaning jobs are,
Windows, walls and floors cleaned, cleaning decks with pressure hose to prepare for and oil.Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Accommodation
Theres a bed in a room downstairs with wifi and a shower just outside. The room is sparse and large and has its own entry.( at the moment my TV is in the room but can be moved upstairs with your help if need be.
I would consider couples preferably over 30 years old, or 2 friends.
This house is a safe space, all walks welcome.
Breakfast is cereal toast eggs if I have and tea and coffee.
Lunch is sandwich’s
Dinner is whatever I’m having, I can cater for vegetarians and possibly vegans but we would need to discuss and I would see if I can do.What else ...
I’m home a lot and this is not a party house but you may smoke and drink within reason, I rarely drink. That’s not to say I don’t have fun and engage in the odd party.
I like enthusiasm, jobs done to the best of your ability . I love music and art and a good sense of humour and value the simpler side of life, I’ve lived in the UK and Holland and done a few years traveling but am from Australia though not typically Australian.
I’m into reduce reuse and recycle.
I really need the extra hands due to a weak back and arms.
People who respect others of all walks rate highly in my books
There’s many creeks waterfalls and walks to go on, between Nimbin in the hills and Byron bay on the coast.A little more information
