    Description

    Hello work-awayer,

let me introduce ourselves, our visions and our daily live:
We are a little community of three families with 5 Kids between 5 - 8.
Together we live on our neighbouring off-grid farms, in a lovely green valley located in Central-Portugal (between Fundao and Castelo Branco).

We share the same vision - to create a lush, healthy and save surrounding for our children - where they can grow up as a tribe, follow their interests. needs and talents. Our kids are free, wild, open-minded little individuals.

There are plenty of projects going on right now - renovation of an old stone house, building stables for our sheep
and chicken, planting trees which one day will form a food-forest, preparing veggie-beds, land-maintance, harvesting, preserving what Mother Earth gives us and many more.

  • Help

    Help

Workawayers should help about 4 days a week, 4 hours each. We need a helping hand with various tasks - like land-maintainance, building, gardening, playing with the kids - all according to your interests and talents.

Right now it would be great to find someone who could help with setting up a roof on our ruin.
In October we need help with harvesting the olives.

We also welcome individuals and families who love to spend time with kids. People who are passionate about
new, free ways of education - following the interests and talents of every individual child.

In the area there are plenty opportunties to meet like minded people (bio-market, yoga, exstatic dances, sound-healings, permaculture courses, Soap making workshops, cultural events,..) as well as typical Portuguese festas.
In summer you can refresh yourself in one of the stunning river beaches around or in our own little lake and river.
The Serra Estrella and the smaller Serra Gardunha are not far away - beautiful hiking ore cycling possibilities.
There are regular kids-meet ups in the area as well (if you come as a family and want to connect).
Every Saturday and Monday there's a great market in Fundao where you can buy the best local Veggies and Fruit directy from the producers.
