    Description

    Hello work-awayer,

let me introduce ourselves, our visions and our daily live:
We are living in a peaceful neighborhood together with a group of families with homeschooled kids between 6-10.
Our off-grid farms are settled in a lovely green valley in Central-Portugal (between Fundao and Castelo Branco).

We share the same passion and vision - to create a lush, healthy and save environment for us and our children - where they can grow as a tribe, follow their interests. needs and talents. Our kids are free, wild, open-minded little individuals.

There are plenty of projects going on here - renovations of old stone houses, animal care for our sheep
and chicken, planting a food-forest, preparing veggie-beds, maintaining and regaining the lands , harvesting, preserving what Mother Earth gives us and much more.

  • Help

    Help

Workawayers help about 4 days a week, 4 hours each day. We always need helping hands with various tasks, up to the season and the projects we are currently busy with - like planting trees, gardening, playing with the kids, diy projects, playground development, harvest- all according to your interests and talents.

In winter there's time for new diy projects, in spring we prune trees, prepare for the gardening season and celebrate the lush, beautiful blossoms everywhere, in summer we work in the early and late hours and relax during the hot days on one of the lakes around or at the river beaches which are amazing, in autumn we harvest olives, which is always a very nice community happening.

We love to learn new skills and also love to share our experiences living off-grid for some yers now.

We also welcome individuals and families who love to spend time with kids, play music, make arts and crafts, just have fun and inspire.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In the area there are plenty opportunties to meet like minded people (bio-market, yoga, exstatic dances, sound-healings, permaculture courses, soap making workshops, cultural events,..) as well as typical Portuguese festas.
In summer you can refresh yourself in one of the stunning river beaches around or in our own little lake and river.
The Serra Estrella and the smaller Serra Gardunha are not far away - beautiful hiking ore cycling possibilities.
There are regular kids-meet ups in the area as well (if you come as a family and want to connect).
Every Saturday and Monday there's a great market in Fundao where you can buy the best local Veggies and Fruit directly from the producers.
