    Description

My name is Jorge, I was born and raised in Mexico City, I lived there for 28 years until I moved out. First I did some volunteer work abroad then I came back to the country and got a job on highways. I got used very fast to the tranquility of small towns but also the importance of staying close to big infrastructure.
My parents bought two pieces of land some years ago and started building, one is close to town, where they built a house and a building for mushrooms (5 min walk from the center). The other piece of land is more extensive and almost empty (some parts are used for seasonal agriculture
I decided to live off-grid and from the land because of working conditions in Mexico, we are one of the countries with more working hours but less productivity and payment. I got tired of working as an architect and decided to start building on my own.

There are seasonal tasks and work can be too physical, also depends on the projects that are currently being developed
    - I have bees, so I have to extract honey, divide swarms or recover them (September-May)
    - I currently produce mushrooms (pleurots ostreatus) seasonally (from trees July-November / in straw all year)
    - Gardening and field work in general (all year)
    - Construction and bioconstruction projects as well as maintenance (November-June)
    - Direct harvest in the field (almost all year)

I live in a house that my parents built 20 years ago. It is big but I only have 2 independent rooms that are available. The kitchen and bathrooms are shared. The house has some details that must be taken into account to function efficiently.
My diet is about 70-80% vegetarian, almost every time I cook with meat or meat products.
