  • Description

The hostel was started in 2003 as a climbers centre. We are very busy during the winter months and have used work exchange people for the past 10 years. We are based just below the village of Finestrat which is just inland from Benidorm. The village has supermarkets, bars and is great for daily supplies.

General work is in and around the house, changing rooms over for incoming guests, maintaining. High standard of cleanliness in all common areas and bathrooms etc. We also like to try and keep the outside areas and camping area tidy and well maintained. There is always maintenance to do and smaller creative projects are always welcome!

Working hours are normally 2.5 hrs a day, and these can be consolidated to allow for longer climbing days, day trips, rest days etc
Volunteering at the orange house is very much a team sport so communication between us all is key!

We provide simple accommodation and do not at present provide meals for our helpers, however there is a constant supply of produce from leaving guests and a communal spirit to cooking which keeps costs low and mealtimes fun and social.

We are located 5 minutes walk from Finestrat village, 15min drive from big supermarkets and Benidorm, and 45minutes from Alicante airport.

We can arrange pick up from Benidorm bus station.

Our season starts in October and usually finishes in May.

Our volunteers tend to be those wishing to start out on, or improve their climbing and no matter their level, they tend to leave with a lot of stories, experience and adventure under their belts.
Although the whole house is geared towards climbing, there are many options for everyone, walking, cycling, canyoning (weather permitting), horse riding, scuba, wine tasting, ridge walks and via ferata just to name a handful.
So whether it’s sports, chilling, or socialising you’re coming for, you’re bound to leave us with at least a couple of lessons learned and tales to tell.
