    The Retreat Centre and Eco Lodge is situated deep in the rainforest of Uvita, Costa Rica, with stunning views over looking the South Pacific Ocean and the iconic whale’s tail beach (Marino Ballena National Park). The design of our lodging is in harmony with our jungle surroundings and beautiful botanical / edible garden where we grow a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and medicinal plants. Our creative team of chefs use our homegrown produce to create delicious vegan meals.

    We invite world class yoga teachers, healers and other practitioners to host retreats and share their gifts of knowledge and guidance within natures harmony.

    A fun and exciting environment situated in the Costa Rican rainforest, remote location to deeply connect with nature and inner self. You will find this place the perfect opportunity not only for personal growth but also for a deeper understanding of permaculture, healthy and alternative living.

    During the high season volunteers will have the opportunity to go on hikes to local waterfalls and beach, learn more about an alternative way of living and vegan cooking.

    During the low season volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in a cooking classes, yoga, a plant tour, and/or a permaculture class.

    And of course build your Spanish conversation with our team of local staff.

    We look for a minimum 1-month commitment from volunteers in the below tasks...

    To help us to provide an excellent experience to our guests during yoga retreats and hoteling periods through general beautification of the rooms and spaces, meeting & greeting guests. Helping to harvest fruit, vegetables and herbs from our edible garden that go into to our farm to table vegan meals, prepared by our team of creative chefs. Assisting on excursions such as; waterfall hikes, beach and jungle spas when we have these.

    We also look for creative people who have talents that could be put to use on specific projects, yoga practioners and herbalists who wish to deepen their practice.

    The timings of the above shifts will depend on whether we are hosting a retreat or in hoteling mode. But we operate on 7 days on / 4 days off during retreats and 5 days on / 2 days off during hoteling.

    A basic level of spoken Spanish is a strong advantage!

    Accommodation is provided which are small cabanas which you will share with one other person. We have a volunteer area that includes a kitchen, lounging area, stove top, toilet and hot shower.

    We have a salt water infinity pool overlooking a stunning view of the iconic Whale’s Tail in Uvita, a beautiful yoga deck, edible gardens, and main house all of which volunteers can enjoy when guests are off-site and in their downtime.

    Volunteers are generally responsible for their own food, although we do provide staples (example: rice, pasta and beans) and some fruit, vegetables, herbs can be harvested from the edible garden upon asking. And if you are working a kitchen assistant or front of house shift, then you will be provided with a meal from the kitchen should they be cooking. We are a community so we do like to cook for each other too!

    We will provide one trip a week to take volunteers to town for a few hours to pick up personal grocery items.
