Description
Greetings! Welcome to our beautiful mini village in the middle of the forest in Sweden. We are a low EMF sanctuary, focusing in using technology mindfully and creating our own solutions for living more independently. We are also Amateur Mycologists and research the subjects around the mycelium and its applications for decentralised living and harmony at an individual, group and network lvl.
Our property has a mini village vibe in the middle of the forest. We have a cafe area, dome, loft and different accommodations + our beloved greenhouse. The lake beach is only 5 minutes away and we love to go either for dips in the summer and the winter.
The forest is our teacher, this is where we learned the most in harmony with nature. Between May and November, we love to do foraging, mushrooms, berries, plants, herbs, etc.
We love to welcome people who are grounded in practical skills with a sense of aesthetics, who are on a personal development growth path and are curious about how to create a better world and want to connect with other people who feel the same way.
In 2024 we need people supporting activities like cooking, gardening, maintenance of the property in general (paint, deck maintenance), repairs of handrails and repair the sauna. If you have a background in mindful practices and would like to share this is a plus as well.
We are fairly well coordinated and check in daily in the mornings during the week, we have a weekly review to discuss our projects. We make sure everyone here knows what is going on. We are normally between 2-6 people here, all focused on different work and projects. We communicate mainly using English, however other languages are also spoken here.
We have a policy of "no animal products" in the shared kitchen, but if someone wants to eat animal products they can do so in their own space. We also have a no WiFi policy but visitors can have adapters for their laptops and phone, this is a low EMF radiation area but we have super fast 1Gbps wired connections in all the spaces. We have an amazing Cafe area, Sauna, Jacuzzi, greenhouse and loft area. No matter what your personal activities are besides being a workawayer here I’m sure you will feel at home.
We prefer if people can "own" their activity and be self-directed, while checking in with the rest of us at the regular meetings.
We do not have paying guests or sell services as a business. We are very passionate about developing a more balanced lifestyle and are very interested in cultural exchange with our guests.
The closest town is only 15 minutes away and we travel several times in week. During the weekend we like to go on hiking excursions, visit neighbour communities, and study the mushrooms around the area.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Here you will meet interesting people and you can explore topics of independence, mindful technology, off grid living, decentralised software. Also we can teach a lot around mycology.
We are focused on learning and exploring how to build a decentralised settlement, so we have defined some structures and processes for creating agreements, coordinating, defining and doing the work, and checking in with each other regularly.
So if you want to learn about and contribute to these things, you will really like it here!
We also prepare and share whole food plant-based meals, so if you want to learn or express yourself in that way, that is also great.
You will also learn about life for settlers in the countryside who come from outside of Sweden - lessons learned, what to do in future.Help
We are looking for people who can help with the household and general outdoor maintenance.
We do not have paying guests or sell services as a business. Ideally you will enjoy a practical and structured approach, everyone here has some roles or tasks they take care of. If you enjoy creating, learning and documenting what you find - even better!
These are the things we need help with - in more detail:
Household:
Preparing / creating plant-based whole-food meals / Inventory and shopping / Cleaning
Yard:
Maintenance / Gardening / Groundskeeping / Basic Construction / Firewood prep / Rubbish and recycling
Also great if you enjoy creating nice spaces, interior design or yoga and fitness.
Special projects:
If you enjoy open source software and using software tools mindfully, there is much to share and discuss around this topic and you may want to research and discover your own projects here. You are also invited to do some blogging about the area or the community, if you think there are some stories that interest you. Some of our current projects:
* Sauna. Change from Electrical to Wood
* Balcony handrails - wooden construction.
* Stairs to Fireplace area
* Painting facadesLanguages spoken

We have various rooms available to people for long term or short term stays, from a cottage with bathroom, to smaller rooms with external bathrooms, there are lots of options. All rooms have at least a bed, desk / work area, and fast wired Internet connection.
What else ...
The area has lots of rivers and lakes and forests to explore. Several small cities in a radius of 15 to 60 minutes, with all the normal city life activities. It is rural and having a car will be an advantage, as there is no bus service, however occasional trips can be arranged with the host's car if needed.
We have here a nice Spa area, with a jacuzzi and a Sauna (we are rebuilding it from electrical to wood).
Cross-country is one of the activities we also like to do in the winter. We have all the equipment at home.
There is also an opportunity to teach yoga or any other group meeting or fitness class. We live next to the municipality events building, which can be booked and contains all the necessary facilities for someone that wants to take advantage of this.
Nature nearby provides rich opportunities for picking herbs, berries or mushrooms. It is gorgeous.A little more information

I spent 4 weeks living here this past summer.
Wonderful space and lots of great food.
I refurnished a bench, restored a sauna and taught many Yoga classes to attendees of retreats and fellow community members.
