Description
Greetings! We are a household focused on using technology mindfully and creating our own solutions for living more independently.
My partner who works remotely and full time in her job and myself, have started the community to try out a different lifestyle. We do not have paying guests or sell services as a business. We are very passionate about developing a more balanced lifestyle and are very interested in cultural exchange with our guests. We are actively researching open source technology and are setting up our own server and have a very fast wired network through the property.
We are fairly well coordinated and check in daily in the mornings during the week, we have a weekly review to discuss our projects. We make sure everyone here knows what is going on. We are normally between 2-6 people here, all focused on different work and projects. We communicate mainly using English, however other languages are also spoken here.
We have a policy of "no animal products" in the shared kitchen, but if someone wants to eat animal products they can do so in their own space. We also have a no WiFi policy but visitors can have adapters for their laptops and phone, this is a low EMF radiation area.
We prefer if people can "own" their activity and be self-directed, while checking in with the rest of us at the regular check-ins.
We love to welcome people who are grounded in practical skills with a sense of aesthetics, who are on a personal development growth path and are curious about how to create a better world and want to connect with other people who feel the same way.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Here you will meet interesting people and you can explore topics of independence, mindful technology, off grid living, decentralised software.
We are focused on learning and exploring how to build a decentralised settlement, so we have defined some structures and processes for coordinating, defining and doing the work, and checking in with each other regularly.
So if you want to learn about and contribute to these things, you will really like it here!
We also prepare and share whole foods plant-based meals, so if you want to learn or express yourself in that way, that is also great.
You will also learn about life for settlers in the countryside who come from outside of Sweden - lessons learned, what to do in future.Help
We are looking for people who can help with the household, general outdoor maintenance, or some basic computer administration / writing.
We do not have paying guests or sell services as a business. Ideally you will enjoy a practical and structured approach, everyone here has some roles or tasks they take care of. If you enjoy creating, learning and documenting what you find - even better!
These are the things we need help with - in more detail:
Household:
Preparing / creating plant-based whole-food meals / Inventory and shopping / Cleaning
Yard:
Maintenance / Gardening / Groundskeeping / Basic Construction / Firewood prep / Rubbish and recycling
Also great if you enjoy creating nice spaces, interior design or fitness.
Special projects:
If you enjoy open source decentralized software and using software tools mindfully, there is much to share and discuss around this topic and you may want to research and discover your own projects here. You are also invited to do some blogging about the area or the community, if you think there are some stories that interest you. Some of our current projects:
* Sauna. Change from Electrical to Wood
* Balcony handrails - wooden construction.
* Stairs to Fireplace Area.
* Painting facades
* Greenhouse
* Drone shots of the property, other photography
There is also an opportunity to teach yoga or provide therapy sessions with the facilities available. Nature nearby provides rich opportunities for picking herbs, berries or mushrooms.Languages spoken

We have various rooms available to people for long term or short term stays, from a cottage with bathroom, to smaller rooms with external bathrooms, there are lots of options. All rooms have at least a bed, desk / work area, and fast wired Internet connection.
What else ...
The area has lots of rivers and lakes and forests to explore. Several small cities in a radius of 15 to 60 minutes, with all the normal city life activities. It is rural and having a car will be an advantage, as there is no bus service, however occasional trips can be arranged with the host's car if needed.
We have here a nice Spa area, with a jacuzzi and a Sauna (we are rebuilding it from electrical to wood).
Cross-country is one of the activities we also like to do in the winter. We have all the equipment at home.
There is also an opportunity to teach yoga or any other group meeting or fitness class. We live next to the municipality events building, which contains all the necessary facilities for someone that wants to take advantage of this.
Nature nearby provides rich opportunities for picking herbs, berries or mushrooms. It is gorgeous.A little more information

I really enjoyed my tasks and was very well involved in the projects, I could arrange the "work" myself and I was not forced to do anything. So there was definitely enough time to explore the area and to… read more
