Join the adventure – Build, Learn & Share!

Hi! I’m Pierre-Alain, 35 years old, and I’m creating a place where low-tech solutions meet food production, community sharing, and environmental care.

Right now, we’re at an exciting stage: laying the foundations of this project together, enjoying the process, and learning by doing. The goal is to build, experiment, and share knowledge in a hands-on way.

    Looking for volunteers for:

    - A one-week construction workshop the week of February 24 and March 3, 2025.
    - Longer stays (1 to 3 months) starting April 2025.

    What’s happening this year?
    - Building a wooden frame structure using roundwood, clay, and straw – a great opportunity to learn traditional and innovative carpentry techniques.
-Preparing organic vegetable plots – setting up for future production.

    What you can expect:
At this stage, most activities revolve around the construction of the building. If you enjoy working with wood, crafting with your hands, and learning practical skills, you’ll love it here.

    Tasks include:
    - Roundwood timber framing: debarking, shaping, assembling.
    -Earth-based techniques (clay, straw, etc.).
-Land preparation and forestry work (sawing, splitting, storing wood).
-Helping in my parents’ garden/orchard, which fills up the pantry.
-DIY projects, general maintenance, and collective living.

    Who I’m looking for:
I welcome motivated people who want to commit for 1 to 3 months and fully engage in the construction process. No experience required, just a strong will to learn and work with your hands. Autonomy is important: some days, I might be away, so you should feel comfortable working independently or with other helpers.

    Work Schedule & Flexibility:
    Standard schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 9 am - 12 pm & 2 pm - 5 pm.
The schedule can be adjusted if you want to take more days off to explore the region. I prefer full workdays rather than half-days.

    Food & Meals:
I provide basic staples (grains, cereals, pasta, etc.).
Extras are up to each person.
Lunch is usually a shared meal, while for dinner, everyone is free to organize their own.

    Accommodation:
A shared dorm-style guest room and a caravan are available.

    Extras & leisure:
Jam sessions (drum kit & percussion available – bring your instrument!).
Climbing (beginner-friendly, good outdoor spot nearby).
The beach is 10 minutes away by bike (which I can provide).
Scenic hikes along the coast & a charming fishing port close by.
A few bars around for a chill evening.

    Important note:
I value low-tech and sustainability, so if possible, prefer coming by train, bus, or hitchhiking rather than flying or driving long distances.

If this resonates with you, let’s connect! Looking forward to sharing this adventure with you.

    See you soon!
