  Description

  Hello! We are Julia and Robert, and we live on a small hobby farm near Eugendorf and Salzburg. Julia works as a nurse, while Robert is currently training to become a nurse.
  
  Our little farm family includes two horses, three ponies, five sheep, as well as chickens and ducks.
  
  We’re looking for an animal-loving and reliable person who would like to stay with us for around 4–5 weeks, experience life on our farm and lend a helping hand. Couples are also very welcome!
  
  We’d love to welcome someone who enjoys being part of everyday farm life, loves spending time with animals and is happy to help with the different tasks around the farm.
  
  There’s always something to do here. Besides taking care of our animals, we regularly have different projects going on, such as building new chicken coops, putting up fences, creating and maintaining pastures, as well as smaller DIY tasks and repairs.
  
  We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees and our own forest. Depending on the season, there are plenty of different ways to help outdoors and learn something new along the way.
  
  If you love animals and nature, enjoy practical work and would like to become part of our everyday farm life for a while, we’d be very happy to hear from you!
  
  Our farm is in a peaceful, slightly elevated location with a beautiful view. You can go for walks directly from the farm or simply enjoy nature. You are also very welcome to pick any vegetables and herbs that are currently growing in our garden.
  
  There are plenty of lakes, mountains and hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. Lake Wallersee, Lake Fuschl and Lake Hintersee are all within easy reach, and the beautiful city of Salzburg is also not far away.
  
  Or you can simply stay at the farm, enjoy the peace and quiet, and cuddle with our animals.
  
  We are not looking for professionals. What matters much more to us is that you love animals, are reliable and responsible. After all, we would be entrusting you with our home and, most importantly, our animals for several days.
  
  If you like the idea of spending 4-5 weeks or maybe longer enjoying rural life with animals, plenty of nature and enough free time to explore the Salzburg region, we would love to hear from you and get to know you!

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Austrian country life and our everyday life on a small hobby farm. During our time together, we look forward to having nice conversations, sharing meals and learning from each other while getting to know different cultures.

  Help

  We are looking for an animal-loving and reliable person for 4 -5 weeks – a couple would also be very welcome – who would enjoy getting to know our everyday life and helping us take care of the animals.
  We also work on other projects, such as building new chicken coops, putting up fences and creating pastures, as well as taking care of various small maintenance and DIY projects around the farm.

  Accommodation

  On our farm, we live together with our animals, and Julia’s mother, grandmother and brother also live on the property. We, Robert and Julia, live in a house right next to the farm. During your Workaway stay, you will live with us in our house.
  
  Your home with us
  
  You will have your own small guest room, which is for your private use only. This gives you a personal space where you can relax and have some time to yourself after a day on the farm.
  
  You will also have access to a guest bathroom. Most of the time, you will have this bathroom to yourself. Occasionally, it may also be used by guests who are camping on our farm.
  
  Free Wi-Fi is available, and you are welcome to use our kitchen at any time to prepare your own meals or snacks. We want you to feel comfortable and at home while staying with us.
  
  Helping on the farm
  
  We are mainly looking for some help with the everyday tasks around our farm. The kind of help we need can vary depending on the season and what needs to be done at the time, so your tasks may be different from day to day.
  
  Good communication is important to us. We will always talk with you about what needs to be done and where we could use your help. We are happy to welcome people who enjoy being active, are interested in farm life and do not mind getting their hands dirty from time to time.
  
  At the same time, we want you to have enough free time to enjoy your stay. You should have plenty of opportunities to explore the area, follow your own interests, go on little adventures or simply relax and enjoy some time for yourself.
  
  Food and everyday life
  
  As we both work full-time, we are not always able to cook or eat together every day. Of course, we provide food and make sure there is always enough in the house. You are welcome to use our kitchen whenever you like and prepare something for yourself.
  
  We are happy to talk with you about what you enjoy eating and whether there are any foods you do not eat or cannot tolerate. We mostly eat vegetarian food, although we occasionally eat meat as well.
  
  Whenever we have the time, we really enjoy cooking and eating together. We also love discovering dishes and food traditions from other countries. Maybe you would even like to cook one of your favourite dishes or something typical from your home country for us – we would love that!
  
  What Workaway means to us
  
  For us, Workaway is about more than simply getting some help on the farm. We enjoy meeting people from different countries, sharing experiences, learning from each other and giving you the opportunity to experience a part of our everyday life.
  
  You are very welcome to spend time with us and become part of life on our farm during your stay. At the same time, we fully respect your privacy and understand if you would like to have time to yourself or spend your free time independently.
  
  We hope for an easy-going and respectful atmosphere where we can communicate openly, work together, learn from each other and, of course, have plenty of laughs along the way.
  
  If you would like to experience everyday life on a farm, enjoy helping out and also appreciate having your own space and independence, we would be very happy to get to know you and welcome you into our home for a while.
