Christophe hosted us for about 10 days. We stayed in an own apartment in their house, it was really nice. He lives in a very beautiful area, but it is hard to reach nearby shops, because he lives on top of a mountain. We helped him in his office and mostly had to carry boxes, because he was moving into a new office. Our normal working days started

In our days off, when they weren't there, they looked their house, what made us feel a little bit unwelcome. And also caused some problems, for example there wasn't a lighter for the stove.
He has a very nice family, his children were wonderful. We also could use bikes and the swimming pool. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We had a great time with Christophe and family, helping out with his farm and the many things his environmental NGO Naturama is involved in (www.naturama.fr). Christophe is Naturama's director, and speaks very good English, having done a lot of traveling. On our workaway, we helped with school presentations with Naturama's mobile farm, fencing for
… read more sheep (putting fence up and taking it down), sheep wrangling/transport, feeding animals (they have lots of various animals as described - cute baby bunnies!), general maintenance around the buildings, and whatever else came up. Some of the sheep work is in other towns around the region, so we traveled around a bit while working and saw some beautiful areas. Naturama's employees (2-3) are nice young people who are passionate about environmental education. We stayed with Christophe and Armelle and their sweet kids at their place outside Ampuis some days, and the food and drink and company was awesome. You will likely meet the neighbours over drinks! Some of the time (during the week) we opted to stay overnight at Naturama's office in Loire-sur-Rhone as it was convenient for working, has kitchen/bathroom facilities, and then we were able to help look after the bunnies and chickens from the mobile farm that live in the backyard. Overall great experience, recommend! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
