Description
I live on 2 acres on the outskirts of Houston. Property is mostly wooded. So far I've worked on infrastructure on the property and have started an ecological garden concept from scratch. We have lots of cats, dogs, bees and chickens on the property.
I am looking for someone that is interested in long(er) term stay that would help me take care of my homestead. I travel frequently and would like to have a reliable person on the property. During my absence your main responsibilities will be: mowing, weed eating, feeding chickens/cats, watering garden/plants, keeping property neat and clean, etc. This takes about 2 hours a day and in the winter months, less than that.
When I am home I'd ask you to spend a few hours a week with me to help on small projects. Basic construction experience would definitely come in handy.
In return you would be able to stay for free in our tiny house with kitchenette and full size bathroom, which also has electric, running water, and Wi-Fi available. I will also supply the bulk of your groceries. A lot of the food will be from our own homestead.
There are plenty of jobs around the Houston area, and you will have lots of time to yourself. If you would like to work while staying on my homestead we can set a schedule to accommodate any job you may find.
The property is about 30 minutes from the heart of Houston. But there are grocery stores, restaurants, Walmart, Home Depot within 10 minutes of home. A car is a must since walking is not really feasible and public transportation is not available. Here on our homestead it is very quiet. You will have a lot of time to yourself.
I am simple, frugal, and hard working and am internationally diverse with lots of European experience. I'd be happy to teach you what I know and would love to learn from you as well.Types of help and learning opportunities

Me - Carina - learn a lot of things in gardening and plants and i'm so thankful that Mina spend so much time to explain me all these things. Also how to use Herbs and the Plants for getting Healty - it was very interesting for me.

Marcel took care not only of the things I asked of him but took it upon himself to work on things that needed to be taken care of over and beyond. His “German” shows through and through. This woman is hardworking, straight forward, and will help you out when you ask. We learned countless new skills, and all about the plants and animals on her land. She's also knowledgeable in medicinal plants and brews a great tea!
