Description
Hello dear travelers, adventurers, humans of all walks of life! Are you planning to come to the Netherlands and do you feel called to discover the Dutch countryside with some locals? We're very happy to welcome you and spend time and exchange culturally, energetically, just have a good time. Please read the whole profile to get a clear idea of what to expect and to see if it resonates with you!
About Us: Since 2020 we are stewards of a 1,5 HA land, where first of all, we agreed to start planting an edible landscape. We started dreaming: What if year round we could eat fresh and delicious fruits from different shrubs or trees and exchange with neighbours and friends? What if we could live more together, self sufficient, creating less waste? How could we serve and involve the community and protect the natural world? Since then we've been planting as many as possible trees and shrubs, started a no-dig vegetable garden, and let the rest of the land rewild. Since a year we've been organizing every season an event with a workshop by and for the community, and had a permaculture designer make a plan for further development of the land. Who are we? Sandra - a passionate tree planter, gardener and part time teacher shares her historical farmbuilding and land for this permaculture experiment and currently lives in the main building.
You will be hosted by Hiske and Salim, a couple co-managing the project. We have been living here since October '24 and have a 1 year old daughter.
Salim is a therapist and a natural health enthusiast. Hiske has a background in anthropology, works as a jobcoach, loves herbalism, and enjoys gardening.
We're much into cultural exchange and are exploring communal en alternative living. In the years before we have hosted volunteers at a permaculture farm in the Lebanese mountains, a very rich experience with beautiful moments and exchanges. We have traveled and volunteered several times ourselves. Now that we're based somewhere, we're happy to welcome enthusiastic individuals to join us!
