We are an organic care farm on the beautiful Sharpham estate in South devon.
We manage the land for conservation, wildlife and have just taken on some more land to run a rewilding project.During the week adults with learning disabilities come to the farm for training and day care(although not during covid).
We host international trainees learning about conservation who stay in our accommodation barn.
We are very close to the diverse and lovely town of Totnes and are close to the moors and Coast.

It is a vibrant place, with lots of people to talk to. Learning English. Spending time on a farm that is organic, managed for conservation. Charitable objectives and spending time with different groups of people. Beautiful area, close to sea and moors. Totnes is an alternative town with lots going on.
We have a rare opportunity to come and stay at the farm in our accommodation barn. These are slightly different times at the moment and we have an increase in workload at the farm as the adults with learning difficulties are not accessing the farm due to the restrictions. We also have our children (two boys 4&6) at home and are home educating. So therefore our routine is changing. So we would really like someone to help spread the load, types of activities will be helping with home schooling, gardening, animal care, supporting the running of the traineeship and accommodation barn. There is also the opportunity to get involved in some of the training activities- wildlife surveying, practical work, botany and birds etc.
We would love you to have experience of helping with children and a Steiner/craft/alternative educate interest would be great.
We have run our traineeship as normal under the Coronavirus lockdown and successfully self isolated people on arrival and then run a self isolating unit thereafter. Please get in touch to discuss options as obviously it will depend on government guidelines and travel restrictions.
