100 percent work away experience guaranteed! I have only two reviews so far. 5/5 stars...yay! Antonio (from Spain) didn’t have time to review me before his subscription expired. He was a fantastic 3 month work away here and we are now life time friends!
Gig Harbor 7 acres . I am just starting and need help in the garden. Permaculture knowledge helpful but not necessary. I am a Master Gardener with Permaculture experience. I need help with general projects, DIY woodworking projects in addition to help the gardens.
Eventually, I would use my property and a training site for a variety of arts such as canning, bee keeping, composting and making dirt, solar dehydration of fruit, and solar cooking, straw bale building, to name a few
Accommodations are an self
contained unfinished apartment. Please be prepared to work about 4 hours per day 4 days per week. I will provide dinner for the days we work together or whatever agreement works for us. Social drinking ok, but no smokers please.
I have worked on a small food farm in northern Costa Rica. I can teach about gardening, Permaculture and living off the land year round. I have traveled in Central America, France, Spain, Italy and can make recommendations. I grew up on the East Coast and know a bit about traveling there and parts of the US in between too. I speak Spanish pretty well. I just retired from being a nurse for 35 years!
In your free time, there is a lot to do here, you can bike easily from the house and there are waterways for kayaks and summer swimming.. The hiking is very nice.

Mark came and stayed at my house for approximately two weeks. I had a punchlist all set up of handyman chores and he was ready to dive in, but we spent the first two days completely rearranging my garage with all my tools , which he also cleaned, and we put everything in its proper place. This gave us a great jumping off point to do all sorts of… read more projects in the apartment. He is very qualified to use all sorts of tools and he’s a bit of a perfectionist, which is great. When there was a project question, he was ready with recommendations. He was extremely easy-going and left my apartment very clean when he left. I would welcome him back anytime he is in the area. Highly recommended

Martin is an extremely hard worker with an exceptional work ethic and great sense of humor. It was a pleasure to host him. He worked longer hours than expected, helped cook, and did the dishes! I am so sorry that my internet was “as stated in my bio”, intermittent and he needed to work on his own computer, so he could only stay 5 days. If I ever… read more get great internet service maybe he will return! Best wishes Martin!

Antonio is an extremely kind and helpful person. He has been here for 6 weeks and we have accomplished so much working together! (much he has done alone too!) He is a very talented and professional plumber and helped with an outdoor shower installation and many other projects. He also helped build a garden retaining wall and replaced fences. He is… read more wonderful with the animals. He awakes every morning with a smile on his face and asks: "What shall we do today?" I am happy to say that we have become good friends. In addition, he has made friends with all of the neighbors because of his interest in others and outgoing nature. I would recommend Antonio for any project! My experiences with "workaway" continue to give me real hope that the world is wonderful safe place where we continue to exchange ideas, make new friends and help each other!

Such a helpful and kind brother and sister dynamic duo! I recommend that you accept them fast! We had the pleasure of spending 18 days together working on projects, sharing meals, visiting neighborhood farms and friends near and far. They cheerfully took initiative to start work at 5:30am and often worked more that the required hours - for fun I… read more suppose! Cooking together was creative and it should be known that Anais makes a fantastic crepe! She even made some for a visiting 15yr old neighbor! I believe "Ana and Ronny" learned much while we worked together on garden design and permaculture concepts. In addition, there were general household repairs; fixing metal gates that required drilling and PVC pipe adjustments, major tree pruning; each project presented was accomplished with their competent help! It was fun speaking French, Spanish and English, hearing of their adventures and changes in the 5 months they spent in Central America and celebrating a 25th birthday with new friends and neighbors! It was truly a spectacular opportunity for us to spend time with some very special people! I know that whatever Anais and Ronan decide to do next, those in their sphere will be better for A & R 's involvement. (We are!) We hope to see them again soon in France or California! Best wished and hugs to you both . We miss you! Aimee & Denis
