    Description

    We welcome people to come stay in our family orientated lodge in Beautiful Homer Alaska. We offer Beautiful rooms and grounds and a fantastic Homecooked Breakfast to our guests served by the Hostess Maria. We offer fishing and Photo safari tours with our Host Tim on the Bay. Our guests enjoy the beauty of mountains , glaciers, and Kachemak Bay and the Homer spit as their view from the rooms they rent. We have a wonderful deck and fire pit and a gas grill and picnic tables too. The lodge is locate 2.5 miles from the fishing and Artsy town of Homer. We have plenty of acreage to handle our pure bred Gordon Setters and Australian Shepard's. We have a beautiful new Barn to house the pups when breeding time comes around. We have a beautiful grounds that include flowers such as sky blue Siberian Poppies. The grounds have natural wildlife trails that you often find our local moose visiting. Maria is a longtime Alaskan. We look forward to having you join our family for the summer and learning what we do ,and how we do it here in Alaska. Our Bed and Breakfast has 7 rooms and a beautiful lodge area. The outdoor grounds are kept up nicely and the view here is breathtaking and the surrounding quiet and peaceful. We are, hoping to find two lovely humans to join us at spreading love, and kindness to our guests.

    Alaska is a unique environment, we eat allot of fresh Salmon and Halibut that we catch. We harvest our berries and rhubarb here and and eat local organic farm veggies straight from the farmer that lives nearby. We also eat organic Moose, and caribou, and local beef. Maria bakes every morning and makes a large homecooked meal. We all eat together at 9:30 am. We have lived in Alaska many years. Our sons are commercial fisherman and we have plenty of life experiences to share. The town of Homer is a quaint fishing town with large population of artists. Homer is known for its great food here, and fun activities, such as hiking, kayaking, beach combing, art galleries and shops.

    We are 2.5 miles from town down East hill Rd . We are able to give rides to town on a daily basis . We do have taxis and an uber service.

    Most of the responsibilities listed here are shared with various other workers. We are looking for someone who can clean rooms, do laundry and also help with the ground maintenance and animals. To clean rooms we wipe surfaces, collect laundry& wash it, vacuum and get the rooms back into working order. For the grounds we have basic maintenances, such as lawn mowing, plant watering or weeding. For the animals we have basic care as well, dog watering and feeding, and petting, brushing, walking. towards the guests we expect kindness and respect and treat them as honored guests. We do offer lodging; some food and we pay minimum wage $11.00USA per hour for help.

    Enjoy your own private room with a twin bed and a dresser . We do have high speed wifi for use. The main sitting rooms and kitchen are available anytime. Will share the bathroom area with two others. There is laundry for use and fantastic fresh Alaskan spring water.

    We enjoy our guests most evenings by visiting with cups of hot cocoa, tea, or wine at the fire pit or inside. We discuss Alaska and how we live. Maria is a watercolorist and teaches Zumba dancing in her community. Maria is a death doula, and care provider in Homer and helps people in need often. Our dogs are like family too, they are very loving and friendly and love to run on the beach here in Homer. Whomever stays with us will be treated as family and welcome to join us, as we do our life....or chose not to, that's ok too.
