Description
Hello, we are Fran, Mariana and Antón, a Galician-Chilean-Chiloé family in which Antón is a very cheerful and calm 7-month-old baby (as of Nov. 2024).
We have lived in this territory for two years, together with two horses, some chickens, a dog and a cat, the orchard, the greenhouse, the apple orchard, the chestnut forest and the native forest in the ravine with the chucao, hued-hued, hummingbirds, scissors, choroy, bees, insects...
We have an idea of a world where, at least, part of the food comes from the place where one lives or from the environment and that can be shared with those nearby. That is why we are developing this family permaculture horticulture project that we call "life" and in this context we want to invite you to spend some time with us, exchange knowledge and cultures and support us with this project.
In stages that we are going to integrate, our idea is to add different edges of the human dimension such as health, community, cooperation or art among others, but we go step by step with the breadth that our little son allows us.
We live 1 kilometer away from the beach of the Pudeto River estuary and 7 kilometers from Ancud and its beaches. In the council territory there is a national monument where you can see the penguins of Puñihuil, the Lacuy peninsula, Duhatao, the pier of light and the flooded valley of Chepu, the private parks Mawunko, Repuleufu and Senda Darwin, the bird sanctuary of Caulín and the sector of Linao/Koñimo.
We like to listen to and play music, read and study, nature obviously, crafts in ñocha, crafts in general, the sun and water. We do all this including but also respecting Antón's schedules.
Types of help and learning opportunities

We will be happy to share what we have learned about life in the countryside, with so much trial and error, and also to share the community vision we have developed for the rural territory where we live.

Help
In the chicken coop, you have to feed, provide water and clean the chicken coop regularly. Open the door for a few hours and close it at night when they are put away. In the season of newly hatched chicks (November/December) they must be taken care of from mice by moving them from the "cradle" to the "school".
In the greenhouse and in the orchard you have to sow and make seedlings; transplanting and caring for newly transplanted slug seedlings; mulching, fortnightly fertilizing with slurry and watering; tutoring and guiding; eliminate weeds; Harvest and process food. In addition, in the garden we are implementing new beds with a biointensive orientation, so we are doubly excavating.
On the farm, fertilizers and natural composts must be made and maintained; collecting twigs and firewood to dry; cutting the grass in some places where the horses do not reach and repairing and improving the fences. Maintain the forest trail. Depending on the time of year, the fruit trees must be fertilized, harvested or pruned. In autumn and winter we are planting trees and shrubs.
Sometimes there are some woodworking things to do that have to do with the project and some others there some construction works to do in the different structures and buildings, specially before the windy season.
Many of the activities are recorded in a manual diary following a roadmap based on a permaculture design.
Languages

We have to offer a separate cabin with its own bathroom (which only lacks the shower, which would be in our house) that we offer to our guests from November to April. This summer we intend to insulate it in a bioconstructive way with mud to welcome our friends and guests throughout the year.
We like to share with you during meals, we like to be helped cooking/sharing food and recipes in exchange too.
A little more information
