Description
I'm Amelia, 36 on a 5 acre block that has a little bit of the last remaining reminant vegetation and revegetating the rest with a mix of bush and wetlands. In general everything on the property has sustainability in mind, meaning after its given a little bit of help to get started it should look after itself or has low energy input.
The daily pace is fairly slow and steady with a nap most days. Most mornings start with walking the dog to the damn for a swim. After that it's pretty weather dependant as there's always something to be done inside, outside or in the shade. Overall the property is quite peaceful and here to enjoy it.
We've built the hempcrete house we live in. You'll be staying in a tiny house close to the house. Attached to the main house is a large workshop which everything is made out of. I have a kiln for pottery and machines for woodwork. My parents come and go most weekends working around the property. I have a goat that help with weed management and the revegetation, and a kelpie...that brings lots of joy!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have a small community made up of neighbours and friends that are all doing pretty interesting stuff. If there's something your interested in I'm pretty sure I could find someone to connect you up with. We are kind of isolated but the neighbours are only over the paddock or down the road.
I can share what I know but honestly I don't really know that much. I just learn the theory and figure out how to apply it to what I'm doing. Mostly, I just ask the people around me.
I spend a chunk of my 20's travelling via bike/sea and living in the solomon Islands working. Life has changed a bit since I took on this property and travelling as much isnt as possible. I dont listen to much news but i do love meeting people from different places and learning about the world from them.
Help
Work is a combo of revegetation, weed management, seed collection, planting, guarding and building. If you want to learn how to use some tools, I love teaching people to be self sufficient!
I do have a kiln and passive pottery side hussle so happy to teach you some pottery if you've got a project in mind.
I'm home about 60-80% of the time. It will be a combo of working together and setting you up with your own project so you can have all the self satisfaction and achievement to yourself!

My brain isnpretty full but learning spanish is deffinitly in the future things to do in life list. I'm pretty restricted to English and solo pidgin but spent a lot of time around people that speak English as a second or fifth language so no need to be shy. Everyone is welcome.
Accommodation
You'll be staying in a very cozy converted shipping container. Wake up to and birdsong if you sleep with the window open.
Cooking is shared. I was vegetarian for 15 years but now eat a little bit of free range meat from local farms. Vego or meat is ok. The pantry is stocked with whole food, nuts and spices and the veggie garden is right out the front of the kitchen for meals to be cooked from scratch using whatevers in the garden.
What else ...
The world is your oyster but everything is driving distance. I can take you in into town and different places in the short term but its best to have a car. Swimming and surf beaches are 10 minutes away and get more spectacular as you go more south. Lots of walking tracks of all distances 15 minutes away. The south gippsland rail trail is 15 minutes. Wilsons prom national park is an hour away where you can do a spectacular 2 day hike to the most south tip of mainland Australia.
If the city is your vibe, Melbourne is an hour to the outskirts and 2 hours to the city. There's also lots of beautiful little boutique and artesian towns close by with great music, bakeries, galleries and artists stores.
No smoking, drugs and light alcohol consumption only.
