Description
We are a recently retired couple living in the small rural town of Toodyay, approximately 80 km from Perth. We have just built a new home on 5 acres of land and just adding the finishing touches to our garden, shed and outdoor areas. Our spacious house has a delightful view overlooking the local countryside and township.
We dont have any pets. The local wildlife, kangaroos, rabbits and birds keep us connected to nature. Our children are all adults living in Perth and visit occassionally.
We try and grow our own fruit and vegetables and love preserving , cooking and sharing our produce.
There is a daily train to Perth city and our home is 2km from the train station. An easy walk just down the hill. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We have both just retired and have the time to assist you with your adventures.
We are very active and would invite you to join us at any of our social activites if you would like to though there is no obligation to do so.
We have travelled extensively around the world. We love the joy of learning about new cultures and sharing our little bit of the world with others. We look at your adventure as being our adventure. -
Projects involving children

Help
We would love some help getting some of smaller projects finished around our house. This would be assistance such as fitting out our shed, installing gates. We have the knowledge just need an extra pair of hands. Assistance maintaining garden would be of helpful.
This would not be strenuous task, just doing it alongside us and enjoying each others company. We are reasonably skilled at most tasks but just need that extra bit of help. On hot days the work would be indoors eg fitting out the shed and on pleasant days we would look to be constructing outdoor structures such as a chicken coup and shade for plants. -

Accommodation
Our house is large and well equipped.
You can have one or two bedrooms and a private bathroom. The bedrooms have robe space and queen sized beds.
We will provide meals, linen and towels.
We would love for you to cook occassionally if that is something you would like to do.
We have lots of space so parking is plentiful.
We live off grid with our own water and power supply so live mindfully to ensure sustainability, though this does not impact our living. -
What else ...
We have electric bikes which can be used to explore the local countryside.
If you dont have a car there is a train that goes to and from Perth daily.
We are happy to provide some assistance with travel however this will need to be negotiated. We travel to Perth about once a week.
Our home is in rural countryside so our area is ideal for bushwalking.
Our little town has a pool, small supermarket, 2 pubs, a few coffee shops, hardware store and a number of other small shops.
There are often cultural events in the town. -
