Hi there, thank you for taking the time to view our profile. As a gay couple we are delighted to have our son Rudi who is 10 years old.
We are looking for someone to help a little with childcare, we have 5 dogs, 2 cats and a variety of farmyard animals.
We are looking for someone to stay for a minimum of 2 months
Types of help and learning opportunities
Babysitting and creative play
Creating/ Cooking family meals
Help around the house
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The workaways could learn the language and learn a lot about Scottish history as we live in the heart of a historically significant Scottish town (Robert burns territory)
We treat everyone who comes to stay with us as part of our family and include them in everything we do whether it’s going to the shops, out for the day or even just sitting down to a meal . We are more than happy to show our workaways around where we live, teach them more about Scotland, our language and our culture.
In return our son and ourselves will get to learn and have a better understanding of other cultures and learn new languages and make good lifelong friends as we have made many new friendships from our time here that we will cherish forever.
The right person for us should have good experience with children, they should also have experience with dogs and farm animals
We are looking for someone with a good can do, positive attitude who can use their initiative. When we are at work or away from home we require our workaways to treat our home as their home.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!!!

Where to we start with Flo? She is one of life’s most wonderful people with the most caring and compassionate nature. The love that Flo showed our son Rudi was that of a parent and it is not often we put 100% trust into an au pair, but this felt right from the start.
Flo did not have much experience with dogs when she arrived and we thought this… read more may cause and issue but no, one week in to her workaway experience she was a natural with our 7 dogs, 2 cats and numerous chickens and ducks.
We hope that’s flo’s 5 month stay was not enough for her and hope she can return in 2020 for another stay.
Love you loads! Martyn, Chris and Rudi xxx

This is a review with formal purposes just because workaway demand it, but you can’t review your family. Rudi, Chris and Martyn are my small family in Scotland. I’ve spend 5 months with them. I have no words to express how thankful I am to them. I’ll try to make my best with this review and not be so emotional.
From the 1st contact on the video… read more call we have I knew we will get along so well and once I arrived I was 100% sure I will stayed more that the 3 months I said in the beginning.
Chris and Martyn were super welcoming and made me feel part of the family since I crossed the door. (I will talk about Rudi later!). They open their house to me with total trust and gave me all the freedom. I had my own room with river views and it was WONDERFUL!! Peaceful and incredible beautiful (i'm really missing that river noise in the mornings!).
I had amazing nights of food, snacks, drinks and deep talks with the guys. We share lots of lovely moments, we party and saw baby pups born! We even try to hike! (we were awful, after 10 minutes out of breath! LOL!).
I don’t want to forget, and mention all the beautiful animals: all the dogs, the cats (I miss Zafe!) and chickens (best eggs you will ever try) who are also part of the family.
It’s hard for me to express how grateful i feel of been with this family. Chris and Martyn were great, but let me tell you about Rudi. Rudi, is a smart, clever, fearless, loving boy I’ve ever meet. He was even waiting for me when I arrived. Rudi loves to play outside, walks in the forest, explore and cook. He enjoy painting and talking to everybody. He loves Lego and building models. Oh! While I remember all this things I miss my boy! Rudi is the type of boy that will take care of you if you have a bad day or feel home sick. Rudi is caring and loves family hugs. So many memories we made together. We had so much fun and even a few tears together watching beautiful weddings in our church. Lovely Rudi... he is most of the time easy going, also sometimes can be a bit hard, but hey! its a 5 year old boy after all.
I'm so happy I’ve been part of the village for that time. I saw Rudi on his 1st day of school and we had more conversations that I can remember. We cooked a lot. We made drawings for each other, learn spanish and numbers. So many things!. Rudi teach me a lot about myself, about fear, about trust and a different type of love I’ve never experience before.
So, you are thinking to apply and get to know Sorn and this beautiful family. My recommendation is that you have to get in mind one thing: This is not the typical workaway, you will become part of the family, you will have an impact on Rudi, on his life. And that is a big responsibility, but also a great experience. I can’t recommend this more.
I love you guys, thanks for the trust and let me take care of your son! I’ll be back! :)
