Description
Hi Everyone! we are a multicultural family living near Turin, in the Piedmont region. My name is Carolina, I'm Venezuelan and my husband Stefano is Italian. We live in a 4000m2 property in the countryside of Turin, surrounded by nature with beautiful view of the mountains, but still close to the city and what it has to offer. My in laws live in an apartment above our home and my sister and teenage niece live near by and frequently visit, we are very family oriented household and would love to host someone that wants to experience family life in Italy. We do not have any small children, but we have 3 big dogs (Italian Maremma Sheep Dogs) a cat and chickens, so if you'd like to stay with us you need to be a big animal lover. We would be happy to spend time with you! We work during the week but we would eat dinner toghether, try to show you the beauty of the region as much a we can and help you plan trips if you need a hand. We are not able to provide a car but we do have bikes that you can use to visit small towns around the area or just enjoy nature and the surroundigs. At home we speak fluent Italian, Spanish and English and I speak a little bit of French (would love to practice if you speak french!) There's always someone home, so you wouldn't be alone :)
We are a SMOKE FREE home and some family members are allergic, so unfortunately we are not able to host smokers.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Turin is about 30min away from our home, reachable by train that arrives right in the city center. It is a gorgeous historic city with so many interesting things to see and visit: museums, royal palaces, churches, etc. If you like art, architecture or history, you'll love Turin. If you like nature, you can enjoy lakes, rivers and nearby mountains in the region. Milan is a couple of hours away by train as well, so it makes a great day trip!. Italian food is exceptional and if you are a foodie,we can surely help you discover dishes from our gastronomy that you have never heard about. At home we are fluent in Italian, Spanish and English, so we can help you with learning/practicing any of these languages. We would love for this exchange to become a great friendship.

Help
We recently underwent a house renovation and even though the biggest projects are done, we still need a hand with painting the walls, some woodwork that includes sanding and repainting the windows and doors, gardening and planting and caring for the orchard. We would also appreciate a hand caring for our animal friends while we are at work. If you have some experience with DIY home projects it would be absolutely wonderful. Since we are at work all day, we only have the chance to do house tasks in the weekends, so we do expect some flexibility regarding the times where projects will be done. We may require you to lend a hand during the weekend and have more time off during the week, for example, but it will depend on the exact task we are tackling at the moment. In any case, we would work it out toghether.

We have a guest room with a double bed and balcony overlooking the garden and a guest bath with a tub and shower. From monday to friday we are at work, so you would have to eat lunch on your own. There will be food available for you but you'll need to cook for yourself. For dinner we are mostly home and can we have dinners toghether.
What else ...
Our town is very small but the nearest train station is 8km away. You can reach Turin in 30 min. We live in a natural park area where you can go for great walks. During the summer if you want to catch some sun and relax at home we have sun beds and you can use the barbecue. Nearby there’s also a pool club where one can pay a daily entrance fee and enjoy a refreshing day in the pool.
