Description
We are is a non-governmental organization dedicated to uplifting women, children and gender minorities in need across Rajasthan, India. Our projects focus on education, skill development, and women's empowerment, creating lasting change in the community.
Our main projects are our centres in Jodhpur, Setrawa and Jaisalmer.
Empowerment Centers: 3 hours in the morning around 30 women come to our center to receive training in sewing and embroidery and academic classes in Hindi, English and Maths. These women who face multiple discrimination due to gender, religion, caste and economic situation often never been to school or dropped out very early. Our center provides them with a safe space, where they can learn, be themselves, find support and make their first steps towards financial independence.
In the same space as our Empowerment Centers, there are our Primary Education Center running in the afternoon. For 2 hours children from the neighbourhood, often children from the women in the morning, they will participate in classes in Hindi, English and Maths.
In both projects, we have weekly workshops about general knowledge, self-defence classes (for the women ) and computer classes (for the children. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Volunteers are staying in a guest house that incorporates the home of the NGO's founder, immersing us in Indian culture. Cooking classes are also offered, as well as tours of the city and surrounding areas. Volunteers also have the opportunity to chat with locals in a friendly atmosphere.
Working in the field of an NGO, at a grass-roots level will allow you to experience the Rajasthani culture and people differently than you would probably be able to while just travelling. -
