Description
Hello! We are Matthieu (French guy) and Danielle (American lady), two city rats turned country mice, embarking on a new adventure on our small farm. With a love for nature and a desire to live more sustainably, we left the hustle and bustle of city life and are now embracing the joys and challenges of country living. Truth be told, we’re learning as we go and could use a bit of guidance along the way!
Our little farm is a work in progress with a variety of ongoing projects. We are looking for kind, enthusiastic individuals to join us and lend a hand. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or simply passionate about rural life, we would love to have you here.
In exchange for your help, we provide comfortable accommodation and meals. You'll have the opportunity to experience the tranquility of farm life, learn new skills, and become part of our family. Our farm is located about two hours south of Paris by car and one hour by train. We are happy to pick you up from the station. Additionally, we have bikes available for you to use, so you can explore the beautiful surrounding area.
If you're looking for a peaceful experience and want to help out on a small farm, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in our journey of turning our little patch of land into a thriving, sustainable farm.
Looking forward to welcoming you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We believe in the spirit of cultural exchange and are excited to share our lifestyle and learn from our guests. You'll have the chance to immerse yourself in our daily routines, explore new skills, and contribute to meaningful projects. We look forward to engaging in conversations, sharing meals, and creating memories together. If you’re interested in improving your French, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to converse with Matt. We also love sharing and teaching about French culture, from the joy of enjoying cheese and bread to the art of drinking wine. Staying with us, you’ll get an authentic taste of the French way of life.
Help
What We Need Help With:
DIY and Collaborative Projects: Join us in various collaborative DIY projects such as reviving an existing chicken coop, helping us start a koi pond, and undertaking other improvement tasks around the property. We'll work together, sharing skills and ideas, learning from each other, and turning these projects into enjoyable and educational experiences for everyone involved.
Gardening: We are passionate about expanding our garden and would love help with planting, weeding, and harvesting. We welcome your advice on gardening techniques to make our garden thrive!
Animal Care: Our growing family of animals needs daily care, and we would appreciate your help and expertise in animal husbandry. This will be a great opportunity to share knowledge and learn from each other's experiences.
Indoor Projects: We have several indoor projects like painting, plastering, and tile work that we will be working on together. These activities are aimed at transforming our living spaces while exchanging skills and ideas in a fun and interactive way.Languages spoken

A little more information
Internet access
Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers
Can host families
Can host digital nomads
We have Wi-Fi available in the main house, but not in the guest house. If you need to work online, you will need to do so in a shared setting within the main house. However, you will still have privacy and a quiet environment to focus on your tasks.
Space for parking camper vans
We have room for motorhomes or campers, but no water waste removal resources.
Can possibly accept pets
We accept kind, well-behaved pets, as long as they can coexist peacefully with our farm animals. Currently, we have goats and are planning to get donkeys and chickens, so it’s important that your pet is trustworthy around them. Additionally, we have a Swiss Shepherd pup who is still learning. He likes to chase his cat brother and is learning how to get along with the goats. While he has never had an incident with another dog other than barking, his behavior can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, so please keep this in mind when bringing your pet.
