    Description

    25.january to april:

From mai we have a big size caravan, but because of cold temperatures now, its not possible in January to april to live in it.

We would need some extra help from now and towards the summer.

We need help with the animals. Someone that can feed, change water, clean water containers, give new bedding of straw or sawdust so the animals have clean houses.

Maybe help with taking out and clean old bedding some fue days.

Let animals go utside og help taking them inside before night. Very easy and enjoyable task.

The help will be 2 -4 hours a day.

I am busy making soap, shampo, balsam and skin product. Testing for natural recipes. You will learn some of it, but not all. 🥰

We will make most of the meals, unless you want to make some food.

Since its still cold outside, we only have a cosy bed in the living room for you. But you can also use the big size caravan if you need space for you're self.

We will do everything we can to make you feel at home, as apart of our family. Bring you around to see and experience Vestfold and the City Tønsberg, Sandefjord, Larvik, Horten.

We hope you can stay a minimum 3 weeks. Because when you learn how to take care of the animals, it will go faster for you to do it.

Right now we have som fue nice geese, a lot of moscovy ducks, som fue nice turkey, some fue hens, guinea fowels, goats and one fresh baby kid, some cats. All of them are very nice, polite and super friendly. Also friendly with people they dont know.

We look forward to meet you soon.

    Our normal profile:
About us and our small farm life:
Me (June) and my houseband (Andreas) have a small private farm east in Norway not far from the coast.
We have an adult daughter who recently moved out. We are both 43 years old and have been together for 23years and married for 18 years.
Our dream and goal is to becoming self-sufficient in food and most of what we can from our farm.
We do not run any business. But sometimes we sell chickens, ducklings or some eggs. Mostly to help us a little with the cost of food for the animals. Its expensive to have animals and since its a hobby we dont expect to earn anything.

June is a a educated farmer and have experience from work on various farms in Norway. She is also educated behavior consultant for companion animals at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
There is still much to learn.

We eat meat. We also eat meat from our animals. It could be a to much challenge for us if you are vegan at this point.

Andreas is a educated electrician and automation engineer.

We bought the farm in autumn 2021. Our water is groundwater from 80 meters below the ground. Its almost offgrid. But we have electricity.

The house is old and we want to fix it up. But we want to do it over many years. The task we want help with is mostly outdoors. Gardening, greenhouse and plants, fenceing, take care of the animals with us. Or small building projects like duckcoop or chicken Coop. Cleaning the animals house.
On a farm there is always different tasks. And what we do is very different from day to day.

We are expecting ducklings, goslings and a lot of baby animals in the spring.
The most important work we do is to give our animals a good life and let them enjoy outdoor as much as possible.

We also grow a lot of tomato. We have around 30 heirloom types of tasty tomatoes. Last year we planted fruit trees and we want to grow more food this summer.

We live in the forrest, but its only 15 min to drive to Tønsberg. Tønsberg is Norways oldest city.

We have goats, ducks, turkeys, hens, geese, guinea fowl, 2 peacock, 7 cats.

We need help with animal care, fencing the garden so the goats dont eat our plants. Fixing buildings and gardening. Taking care of our animals. Help making meals some days.

In retur for youre help, ideas and company we want to give back nice experiences. You will have the opportunity to visit the viking museum to see replica of Viking building, Viking graveyard from year 800. See replica Viking ship that is found in this area, and experience the nearest towns of Tønsberg, Sandefjord and Larvik.
How much of this you get to see depends on how long you stay.

We think 2 workawayers is enough at the same time.

We would like to welcome you and hope to form a wonderful friendship.
We look forward to meet you and get to know you as a good friend.

Since we have animals. Its really important that you try not to be in contact with animals in other countries the last weeks before you visit us.

More information about 2025 will come soon.

For mars and april we can only host 1 at the time because its hard to predict the weather. At this time we only have one bed in the living room.

In the summer from mai to august/september workawayers can stay in our big size caravan. It has one double bed and two single beds.
Shower and washing of clothes, meals we be in the house. Workawayer are welcome to be in the house as much they want. But have the possibility to relax in the caravan if wanted.

Work per day will be between 2-5 hours. And 2 days free to do as you want. We will be helpful if there is something you want to do. As to get to the city or other things. Sometimes we go with you as a guide.

It is an advantage if you are creative and know a little about farming, animals, building maintenance. But it is not necessarily with experience. You will also learn from us.
It is good if you have experienced living off-grid or want to try it.
I would love to learn from you and work together with gardening, taking care of our animals. Work with wood, fencing and other tasks with you.

We give the goats hay 2 times a day and powerfeed(pellets) only to the goats with kids. We clean water buckets some times a week. And give new water morning and evening.

The birds we fill up whit powerfood(pellet), fill up water and in the summer we clean water container every day, but the rest of the year when its colder sometimes a week we clean the water container. If necessary we take out old bedding and give new. Sometimes we just give new bedding sawdust or straw from oat production.

In the summer all our goats are outside 24/7. We only give new water. They find their food themselves.
Our birds we let them go outside all day and take them inside before the night.( Because of predator like fox.)

Normally we use 15 - 30 minuttes in the morning on feeding animals.
    After we eat breakfast.
After breakfast we fill bags with hay, take out bedding if needed and give new. Or other tasks. Like clean water containers, gardening, tiding, or other tasks.

In the evening we normally use 15- 30 minuttes to feed and give water if necessary.

In the winter the animal care takes more time than in the summer.

We also pick up eggs 2 times a day. In the morning and the evening. In the spring som eggs we hatch in hatching maskin and some we sell as hatching egg.

The rest of the year our eggs are used as food.

We live in the forest only 15 minutes drive to the nearest town Tønsberg. In fact, Norway's oldest city. We drive weekly to Sandefjord and Larvik and will be helpful in driving to various cultural experiences. The kind of cultural experiences can vary slightly with the seasons and how long you stay.

There is a lot of Viking history in our county. There are two Viking and medieval museums nearby in addition to other museums. In the summer months, cultural life is alive in the area.
