We are a Mexican/English/Israeli family with a 5-yo, a 4-yo, and a cat. We have local business and need help with the daily routine.
We're hoping that we can host someone who will enjoy being the countryside, and will love hanging out with the kids. Time saving help around the house like laundry, light chores and occasional cooking will be a game changer for us.
We are happy with flexibility, so someone who can manage the days or hours that suits them is very welcome to take time to travel around and enjoy their time.
We prefer last-minute requests because forward planning is hard!
We are in a small, quiet village, please let me know that you are fine with that in your message because I worry about putting some poor soul in the middle of the countryside if they need the excitement of a big city and constant company.
My wife, Tona, is trans, please also make sure you are cool with that before you apply.
We go to my parents' house some days, and there will be animals; it's your choice if you come along. We are happy to make sure you can get to bus and train stations to do some travelling around whenever you feel like it.
You are welcome to be as independent or as involved as suits you.

My animals / pets
Gatita
Rescue cat, mostly friendly and absolutely loves company, but she was a bit young to be an orphan and has problems like peeing on beds and occasionally gets a bit bitey.
Lina was amazing in that she was competent, sensible and always happy to help. She never needed direction, and always found something that was genuinely useful to do. We hung out and talked but she also did her own thing sometimes so all in all an ideal guest!

This was my first experience with Workaway and it has certainly been the best experience I've ever had. Stella became very much one of the family! She came back several times and was a constant presence in our lives, now she's gone it's very quiet over here! On top of that, I always say that Stella is one of the nicest people I've ever met, without fail she says thank you every time she leaves a shop for example. The baby boy is such a smart and good boy that I felt like it was much easier than what people might expect when thinking about spending time with an 1.5 years-old. The best part for me of this Workaway was the cultural exchange I had with this 4-generations multicultural family. I enormously enjoyed walks with the little boy and his great grandma… read more in beautiful forests. Thank you again for the past 2 weeks!

I don't think I can do justice to Amelia here because she is such a capable, personable, wonderful person over and above any level of expectation. She was such an immense help to us during her stay, especially because she took initiative when I wasn't able to organise myself let alone someone else! I really mean it, Amelia, you are welcome back to… read more our home any time, I really hope that we do meet again.

It was my first Workaway experience and I would not have had it any other way!
Aya, Tona and Luken were such lovely people, I had a very lovely experience being a part of their family.
Main task of a Workaway here included taking care of Luken, sweetheart of a boy. With limited past experience of childcare, I was given full trust to care for… read more Luken and appreciate the autonomy given. Besides that, occasional household chores to be done but nothing I was uncomfortable with. Some days of the week would be spent at the grandparents place, which had animals one can play with as well as friendly and pleasant people to get to know!(Parents and grandparents of Aya)
All in all, it was a very satisfying experience and highly recommended!

Our stay with Tona and Aya was great! We only had two days to visit Queretaro and they let us stay with them and help with the dogs. As they live in a centric and beautiful zone we took long walks with Nala and Kobe while we got to know the city. Both dogs are just adorable and playful. The home is very comfortable so when we came back from the… read more walks we could have a nice rest in a room just for us.
Tona and Aya are a very nice couple with lots of experiences and stories to tell as they have lived in many countries so far. They gave us tons of good advices about the citiy and places to eat and we talked about mexican history and culture. We shared a dinner out and a night of board games at home.
In short, we got to know the city, we learned, we had fun and hope we helped them somehow with the dogs :)

It was brief but Magalí & Miguel are people who we hope will come back to the area so we can invite them to stay again! They were popular with the dogs, hung out with us as well as being self-sufficient when required.
