  Description

  We are a family of 2 adults and 2 children under 10. We run a rural hostel on a farm in the middle of the countryside 1km from Plasenzuela, La Jarilla. We also manage a garden space with permaculture criteria, a food forest and we have a farm with pigs, donkeys, chickens, goats, cows and sheep with which we carry out holistic management on the farm, an olive grove for our own olives and oil. At the same time, we have a non-profit association with which we have non-formal education projects with young Europeans, so several young people from all over Europe always accompany us. We are not looking for volunteers for the business activity (hostel). We are looking for help with the tasks in the garden and farm animals.
  
  Somos una familia de 2 adultos y 2 niños menores de 10. Gestionamos un albergue rural en una finca en medio del campo a 1km de Plasenzuela, La Jarilla. Gestionamos también un espacio de huerta con criterios de permacultura, un bosque de alimento y tenemos una granja con cerdos, burros, gallinas, vacas y ovejas con las que realizamos manejo holístico por la finca, un olivar para nuestras olivas y aceite propios. A la vez llevamos una asociación sin animo de lucro con la que tenemos proyectos de educación no formal con jóvenes europeos por lo que siempre nos acompañan varios jóvenes de toda Europa. Estamos buscando ayuda de voluntarios para el mantenimiento de los huertos y animales de la granja.

  In addition to the implicit learning in daily tasks, several times a year with the association and with some of the volunteers who always accompany us and clients, we develop learning projects of some aspect necessary for the development of permaculture on the farm, it can already be carried out of organic fertilizers, compost, bocashi, construction with recyclable materials and materials from the area, concerts, talks and a long etc but above all we learn from what surrounds us, from the exchange of cultures and from the spectacular starry skies and its infinite sunsets.
  
  Además del aprendizaje implícito en las tareas diarias, varias veces al año con la asociación y con algúno de los voluntarios que siempre nos acompañan y clientes desarrollamos proyectos de aprendizaje de algún aspecto necesario para el desarrollo de la permacultura en la finca, ya puede ser realización de fertilizantes orgánicos, compost, bocashi, construcción con materiales reciclables y de la zona, conciertos, charlas y un largo etc pero sobre todo aprendemos de lo que nos rodea, del intercambio de culturas y de los espectaculares cielos estrellados y sus infinitos atardeceres.

  The profile is quite broad, versatile, since any activity is tutored by us and we practice teaching permaculture, what is not known is learned day by day, the tasks range from help with animals, artisan food production, pruning, grafting , sowing and harvesting, preparation of preserves and other daily routines.
  
  
  El perfil es bastante amplio, versatil, ya que cualquier actividad esta tutorizada por nosotros y practicamos enseñando permacultura, lo que no se sabe se aprende dia a dia, las labores pasan desde bioconstruccion, manejo con animales, elaboracion artesanal de alimentos, podas, injertos, siembras y cosechas de productos ecologicos, preparacion de conservas y las rutinas diarias de manejo con animales.

  Accommodation

  We have two typical Celtic houses-huts that have a kitchen and private bathroom, or depending on availability of rooms in the hostel with their own bathroom. wood stove and/or air conditioning and heating. The kitchen that we all normally use is the one in the hostel, it is industrial and equipped with everything you need, it is the nerve center of the house and where we spend the most time sharing. The meals are always with our own products that we generate and are seasonal, we organize ourselves among adults to cook and share the different gastronomic recipes of each region and country of origin,
  
  Disponemos de dos casas-chozos típicos celtas que tienen cocina y baño privado, o según disponibilidad de habitaciones en el albergue con baño propio. estufa de leña y/o aire acondicionado y calefacción. La cocina que normalmente usamos todos es la del albergue, es industrial y esta equipada con todo lo necesario, es el centro neurálgico de la casa y donde mas tiempo pasamos compartiendo. Las comidas siempre son con productos propios que generamos y de temporada, nos organizamos entre los adultos para cocinar y compartir las diferentes recetas gastronómicas de cada region y pais de origen,

  What else ...

  For leisure, apart from the events of the association, the closest town, Plasenzuela, is 1km away and has several bars and a multi-store, it also has a library and a public swimming pool, there are two other associations with European volunteers, so in the end they meet in a very international atmosphere, but then the capital Cáceres, which is beautiful and a UNESCO heritage site, is 30 minutes away by car or Trujillo is also 15 minutes away. There is a bus almost every day to one of those cities.
  
  Para el ocio aparte de los eventos de la asociación, el pueblo mas cercano, Plasenzuela esta a 1km y tiene varios bares y una multitienda, también tiene biblioteca y piscina publica, hay otras dos asociaciones con voluntarios europeos por lo que al final se reúnen en un ambiente muy internacional, mas luego la capital Cáceres que es preciosa y patrimonio de la UNESCO esta a 30 min en coche o Trujillo también a 15 min. Hay un autobús casi todos los días a una de esas ciudades.
