++ CURRENTLY WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HOUSE SIT FROM
MID MARCH TO END OF APRIL AS I WILL TRAVEL ++
THE HOUSE CAN ACOMODATE UP TO 4 PEOPLE
My name is Jessica, I live in a large house with our 6 rescue cats and 2 dogs + fosters.
We run a rescue organization from our home. We usually have in foster care 10-20 cats, depending on the season, most are available for adoption but some are here long term while they are domesticated.
During the summer which is kitten season, we could have 10-15 kittens.
Sometimes we take care of puppies also.
Staying with us you will learn about taking care of animals, our culture, we will make sure you see the nice places but you will also see the neglected parts of the city that we help.Types of help and learning opportunities

Travelers who will come to volunteer in our home sanctuary will have a chance to: gain a valuable knowledge and work experience about animal care and running the animal sanctuary, learn about the Uruguayan animal welfare challenges, laws etc., get a sense of achievement, self-confidence and motivation, be part of our community and help to make a difference. Volunteers will receive lots of love from our furry friends while enjoying their company and bonding. Whoever is interested can help in other tasks as TNR, trap neuter return, education as we go to schools, participate in spay and neuter clinics if someone is on the vet or vet tech field, take animals to physical therapy or just walk in the rambla at sunset mingling with locals and walking out dogs!
Those who will come to volunteer in our sanctuary will get the experience of living in Montevideo, we highly recommend visiting Colonia out west and the coast of Maldonado and Rocha.
We have no issues for volunteers to stay during the week with us and travel on weekends !
Please write to us with any doubts.Help
MUST REALLY REALLY LIKE living with CATS, DOGS AND CLEANING. :) Yessss the cats run the house 😎
THIS IS AN AT HOME Non Profit ANIMAL SHELTER . uy.
WE RESCUE AND FOSTER sick and healthy animals UNTIL they ARE ADOPTED.
We are operating a cat rescue for which we are seeking volunteers to help with our daily operations. We would love someone who likes to cook and doesn’t mind living with foster cats !
The sanctuary, which currently hosts more than 24-30 cats, is a modern, clean and comfortable private house in Montevideo.
Its located 10 minutes away from the Airport, 30 from the bus terminal, one block away from a park and beach.Languages

Private bedroom (might have cats, depending on the temperature and their personality :)
Nursing moms or new cats just received are in a different room in cages while they adapt.
There is a bathroom with shower across from the bedroom, mostly a guest bathroom, we have 2 more in the house.
Shared used of the kitchen and fridge and living areas. Food is not included (15 hours per week help only), regrettably we are going through tough financial times and cannot afford normally we share expenses with guests. Workawayares are welcome to have coffee, tea, milk for breakfast and we share and cook food when available, but not always the case due to busy schedule . There is a market 2 blocks away and also delivery. There is a fruit/vegetable market on Saturdays. We are very flexible. What else ...
We need help with daily sanctuary operations, such as: feeding the cats, cleaning litter boxes, cleaning all indoor and outdoor areas of the shelter, taking care of our garden, playing with and petting our cats. One can be also asked to help with other tasks, assisting our staff who brings our cats to the vet.
We expect our volunteers to help up to 3 hours per day
Volunteers can take turns in the morning/afternoon shifts, which allow them to plan better for their free time. We are very flexible
Given the fact that help in the cat sanctuary has its own specifics and requires commitment to follow a specific help schedule and rules, we are looking for volunteers who are mature, have sense of responsibility and who are good team players and dedicated animal lovers. There are beautiful tourist places and beaches around our area, which we encourage our volunteers to enjoy in their their free time, nevertheless our preferred volunteers are those who are coming to our sanctuary to contribute with their help and learn about animals at the first place.A little more information
