Description
Welcome to our manor farm founded in 1200 by the Templars. This fortress reminds you that we are all passing through and that it is important to slow down sometimes to better enjoy the present moment. A place of resource, of transformation, of meeting. A place of good living also, where one can exchange around a wood fire with an organic or medieval meal on the knees. Family place for almost 30 years, we would like to share our place with open-minded, friendly and pragmatic people.
Christine who is the owner of the place manages a stud farm of about thirty horses. With approximately 30 hectares of land and 450 square meters of living space, Christine is looking for people who can help us with taking care of the land and the house. We will not ask workawayers to help directly with the horses! In addition, we have an outdoor swimming pool, a stable, 2 sand pits and an authentic 17th century barn that can be used as a home cinema or a place to relax.
At the moment we need hands to help with cutting, collecting and sorting the wood, painting and gardening as well as cleaning and cooking.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Christine and her son Jaap are the main inhabitants of the house. Gregoire lives and works with us will be monitoring workawayers. You will also meet Clementine who is an employee of the stud farm, specialised in all things horses related. We are a great team and we will be really happy to welcome you here with us.
By visiting us you will be immersed in Bretagne, very close from the forest of Brocéliande. The house in itself is very old and full of tales from another time. You will be immersed in a Dutch family, speaking dutch fluently and being able to share and tell a lot about dutch culture. You will also be immersed in French culture as the family leaves in France for more than 30 years and everyone who works or just pass by is french.
Living in a region full of culture, you can enjoy Brocéliande (forest) which is full of stories, myths, fairy tales about King Arthur and Merlin. If you prefer the city, Rennes (220,000 inhabitants) is located 40 minutes from our place, you can reach it by bus, train or car. It is a student city, very dynamic with a friendly atmosphere.
During the summer we sometimes host event where people from all around the world joins so the house can also become a nice mix of nationalities.Help

Some members of the house have spanish or german notions so it would be a nice added bonus to try and talk in those languages as well.Accommodation
For eating it is a good idea to all eat together between Monday and Friday at lunch so we can learn to know each other. We think that in the evening and in the week-end, each should eat in his own "home" so that everyone can have his own private moments. We will provide ingredients in both cases !
Concerning your accommodation, there is a lot of options because there is more than 6 bedrooms. But most of the time you will live in the studio which has an independant kitchen and bathroom and is ideal for two people. What else ...
The ideal would be to have a driving license. We can sometimes lend you a car if you have a valid driving licence.
Countryside and forest are everywhere around, up for exploration.
We live in a small village where the first supermarket is 10 mins away by car. There is a train station at 12 km and from there you can take a quick train to Rennes.
We also would like to ask you for an insurance that covers if you in cas of illness or accident.A little more information
