    Description

We’re a small, creative household in the Sicilian countryside, offering a peaceful and restorative stay surrounded by a garden with fruit trees, seasonal vegetables, and a few friendly cats.

Our main intention in hosting is cultural exchange — sharing daily life, creativity, food, ideas, and learning together at a relaxed pace. We enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and creating a space of connection, curiosity, and mutual inspiration.

We live simply and close to nature, and we invite Workawayers to be part of that rhythm: spending time in the garden, cooking and sharing vegan meals, exchanging skills, or simply enjoying quiet time in nature.

Guests stay in a private unit with a bathroom, kitchen, internet, and access to the garden.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travelers staying with us will experience a slower, quieter way of life in the Sicilian countryside, with space to rest, reflect, and enjoy a peaceful, relaxed rhythm close to nature. The atmosphere here is calm and informal, offering a comfortable, retreat-like stay without expectations or pressure.

We’re happy to share a range of skills and practices, always in an informal way and based on mutual interest. This can include vegan world cuisine, language exchange, professional and artistic photography, and improvisational theatre as a playful exploration of creativity and expression. We also practice meditation and are glad to offer sessions or guidance for anyone curious about mindfulness or inner work.

We enjoy meaningful conversations and can offer coaching and reflection around self-fulfillment, creativity, career paths, and personal freedom.

Guests are free to join activities or simply follow their own rhythm.

Hosting for us is a mutual learning experience, and we’re genuinely interested in what our guests bring with them.

  • Help

    Help

The help we’re looking for is varied and flexible, and always based on learning and doing things together. Most of the help is in the garden, supporting general maintenance such as watering, weeding, planting, observing the seasonal needs of the plants, and spending time caring for the space as a whole.

We also have a small citrus orchard that we are slowly bringing back to health after a period of low maintenance. Any time spent with the citrus trees is approached as a shared learning experience — observing the trees, discussing what they might need, and gently experimenting with basic care. While no professional experience is required, any knowledge or curiosity around organic vegetable growing or citrus trees would be especially valuable, as we know very little ourselves and are genuinely eager to learn.

In addition, there are occasional DIY and small construction or repair projects around the property. These are simple, hands-on tasks that we can do together and adapt according to the interests, skills, and preferences of the Workawayer. The emphasis is always on collaboration, exchange of ideas, and learning from one another, rather than on achieving specific outcomes.

    What else ...

There’s no public transport nearby, and there’s not much within walking distance, so having a car is useful. We go out several times a week for walks in nature or to the nearest town, and guests are very welcome to join us. This is a relaxed, peaceful environment, and we invite everyone to enjoy the garden, the orchard, or simply some quiet time during their stay.
