Description
Organic farm with accommodation on a farm, educational farm services for local schools. This is a 44-hectare estate overlooking the Ionian Sea in Calabria (Southern Italy). We are located in the hills, about 1.5 km from the main road, here is a small paradise, only 7 km from the towns of Catanzaro Lido, 2 km from the nearest supermarket. We can accommodate volunteers in self-contained apartments equipped with all services including kitchenette, for about 2 weeks, but also for longer periods, subject to prior knowledge, to be agreed.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travelers will be involved in the Company's daily routine. They will be able to learn beekeeping work with Marco or with Elvira treat medicinal herbs and make simple herbal preparations (oleolites, alcohol). With Florinda and Katia prepare jams and juices, learn how to make bread with our organic flour. They will be able to help Giuseppe and Pietro in the maintenance work, in the olive harvest and in the care of the vegetable garden. In particular we would like to involve travelers in our INTEGRAL ECOLOGY PROJECT, starting from the book "Prima del Principio" written by several hands over two years which tells the formation of the first atomic particles according to the most up-to-date theories of quantum physics and introduces the students welcomed in the Educational Farm, through educational and artistic installations, in a world made of energy, of vibrations emitted by all the elements of nature, stimulating a comparison on the influences of this energy on our person.
As regards this educational sector of the company, it is important to point out that our orientation is Catholic and we collaborate with the nearby parish through catechism activities. For this reason we would prefer to host volunteers who believe in the existence of an intelligent design behind this wonderful world, to share new knowledge.
Help
We ask our volunteers for a commitment of 5 days for 5 hours a day.
We would like to host people on hand in our garden and with animal care throughout the year and as well as people on hand for the general maintenance of the estate.
For those who are particularly interested in agricultural work, here are our activities according to the season:
October: olive harvest, oil production
November: pruning
December / March: pruning and harvest of citrus fruits
January / May: pruning of trees and vineyards
Either way, artists are also welcome and will find a place where they are sure to be inspired and with lots of art work to do! (Land art, creative workshops with children ...)

Accommodation
Volunteers will be hosted in a shared house with private bedroom.
We offer you food for the breakfast and lunch that you can cook in the kitchen of the volunteers' house for your personal diet.
What else ...
The closest airport is Lamezia Terme (30 Km) and the closest train station is Catanzaro Lido at 4 km.
At the arrival, volunteers can either come by bus or train to Catanzaro Lido or a local pick up shuttle service can take volunteers from the airport straight to the farm.
