    Description

We are a Austrian-Swiss homeschooling family with two girls (12 and 9 years) and a boy of 9 years. Our house is in a village in the Bernese Alps, has a 1200 sqm garden and is close to the railway station and a lot of infrastructure like supermarket, bakery, etc.
Apart from homeschooling we are often out in the wonderful nature surrounding our village, swimming in the lakes, skiing, sledging, mountain biking or hiking. Rock climbing will be added this spring too.

If you are into mountain sports and nature, our place will be great for you. Everything is in reach, the ski lifts are 20-30 min away, there are two places for ice skating, sledging, mountain biking; in summer you can swim in the near by lakes, go hiking or visit the half dozen castles around lake Thun, which is also only 20 min away by train. Thun, the Venice of the Bernese Alps, is only 20 min away and the next bigger town. Bern, the capital of Switzerland is 40 min by train. Or you can hang out in the garden or on the balcony and enjoy the view. Since we have a 7 seater car you are welcome to join us, if you like, to all the excursions and outdoor activities we normally do on weekends.

We are looking for French or English native speakers who can spend some time with the children and help with homeschooling. The kids have a basic understanding of both languages already, English a bit more than French - but our main language is German. Some help with cleaning and cooking in the house would be great as well. In spring to fall there is also work in the garden - as we are growing some vegetables and fruits in raised beds and our greenhouse.

    Accommodation

You will have your own brightly lit and spacious room with a small attached winter garden and the bathroom on the same floor will be most of the time only used by you as well. We provide bedsheets and towel as well. Since we are mostly vegetarian, that's predominantly the food we cook and eat. The kids sometimes eat meat too, but not too often. There is LAN internet access in your room. We can also activate WIFI if needed.
Food is included and we try to eat fairly healthy. We are a non-smoking household and we also did not undergo the recent gene therapy that so many people took. Apart from that you will be around fairly normal and nice humans.
