  Dear Workawayeuse, we are a warm and open Swiss family with three children (December 2018, July 2021 and February 2024). Traditional Swiss culture plays an important role in our family, but we are also passionate about discovering other cultures. We practice needs-based education, with an emphasis on respect, acceptance and communication.
  It is very important to us that our children come into contact with foreign languages ​​in a playful and joyful way. Speak your mother tongue as much as possible with our children, and in return, we will integrate you into our family adventure.

  Chère Workawayeuse, nous sommes une famille suisse chaleureuse et ouverte avec trois enfants (décembre 2018, juillet 2021 et février 2024). La culture traditionnelle suisse joue un rôle important dans notre famille, mais nous sommes également passionnés par la découverte d'autres cultures. Nous pratiquons une éducation basée sur les besoins, en mettant l'accent sur le respect, l'acceptation et la communication.
  Il est très important pour nous que nos enfants entrent en contact avec des langues étrangères de manière ludique et joyeuse. Parle autant que possible ta langue maternelle avec nos enfants, et en échange, nous t'intégrerons dans notre aventure familiale.

  Liebe Workawayerin wir sind eine kontaktfreudige, aufgeschlossene Schweizer Familie mit drei Kindern (Dez 2018, Jul 2021 und Feb 2024). Die traditionelle Schweizer Kultur spielt in unserer Familie eine wichtige Rolle. Genauso spannend finden wir es aber auch andere Kulturen kennen zu lernen. Wir leben eine Bedürfnisorientierte Erziehung und legen grossen Wert auf Respekt, Akzeptanz und Kommunikation. Es ist uns sehr wichtig, dass unsere Kinder auf eine spannende und glückliche Weise mit Fremdsprachen in Kontakt kommen. Sprich mit unseren Kindern möglichst viel in deiner Muttersprache und wir nehmen dich dafür mit in unser Familienabenteuer.

  Wir unternehmen sehr viele Familienausflüge. Du bist herzlich eingeladen uns zu begleiten, wenn du willst.

  Help

  EN | Your main task is to speak your mother tongue as much as possible with the children.
  (Walking, singing, crafting, experimenting, making art, music, etc.) The more the activities captivate the children, the more enthusiastically they will engage in them.
  We try to limit the children's access to digital media as much as possible: no television, no mobile phones, etc. They are encouraged to play outside and can get dirty without any problems.
  We are happy to apply the Montessori principles, supporting and motivating the children to do as much as they want themselves. With the baby, we plan to partially practice natural infant hygiene again.
  Our youngest son finds everything his big brother does fascinating. We also appreciate that you are actively involved in our family life.
  
  Helping hours:
  As there have been misunderstandings about this in the past: time spent at the table, family outings and even day trips during the weekends are NOT considered working time. This is a voluntary offer from us, often tailored especially to our guests. We consider these moments essential for cultural exchange.
  
  FR | Ta principale mission est de parler autant que possible ta langue maternelle avec les enfants.
  (Promener, chanter, bricoler, expérimenter, faire de l'art, de la musique, etc.) Plus les activités captivent les enfants, plus ils s'y investissent avec enthousiasme.
  Nous essayons de limiter au maximum l'accès des enfants aux médias numériques : pas de télévision, pas de téléphone portable, etc. Ils sont encouragés à jouer dehors et peuvent se salir sans problème.
  Nous appliquons volontiers les principes Montessori, en soutenant et en motivant les enfants à faire eux-mêmes autant qu'ils le souhaitent. Avec le bébé, nous prévoyons de pratiquer partiellement l'hygiène naturelle infantile à nouveau.
  Notre plus jeune fils trouve fascinant tout ce que fait son grand frère. Nous apprécions également que tu participes activement à notre vie de famille.
  
  Horaires de travail :
  Comme il y a eu des malentendus à ce sujet dans le passé : le temps passé à table, les sorties en famille et même les excursions à la journée pendant les week-ends ne sont PAS considérés comme du temps de travail. Il s'agit d'une offre volontaire de notre part, souvent adaptée spécialement à nos invités. Nous considérons ces moments comme essentiels pour l'échange culturel.
  
  
  DE | Deine Hauptaufgabe ist es mit den Kindern möglichst viel in deiner Muttersprache zu sprechen. (Spazieren gehen, Singen, Basteln, Experimentieren, Kunst, Musik, …) Je spannender die Kinder es finden, desto euphorischer sind sie bei der Sache.
  Wir versuchen die Kinder soweit es geht von Digitalen Medien fernzuhalten. Kein Fernsehen, Mobiltelefon, …
  Die Kinder dürfen nach draussen und dürfen auch schmutzig werden.
  Die Prinzipien von Montessori wenden wir sehr gerne an. Wir unterstützen und motivieren die Kinder so viel sie möchten selbst zu tun.
  Mit dem Baby werden wir wieder Teilzeit Windelfrei praktizieren.
  Der jüngere Sohn findet alles spannend was der ältere Sohn tut.
  Wir schätzen es, wenn du dich an unserem Familienleben beteiligst.
  
  Arbeitszeit:
  Da es in der Vergangenheit leider zu Missverständnissen gekommen ist:
  Die Essenszeit, Gemeinsame Ausflüge und auch Ganztagsausflüge an den Wochenenden zählen NICHT zur Arbeitszeit. Das ist ein freiwilliges Angebot von uns, das wir häufig sogar speziell auf unsere Gäste anpassen. Wir erachten gerade dies als wichtige Zeit für den Kulturaustausch.

  Accommodation

  EN | We live in a modern, energy-efficient house (passive house standard).
  Sustainable living is very important to us. As a guest, we are happy to welcome you into our family, and you will live with us. The bedrooms are used almost exclusively for sleeping. Our family life takes place in a loft-style living area. There is also a large hanging net in the mezzanine, perfect for reading.
  We have two bathrooms. In addition to the open kitchen with dining area and the relaxation area with lying areas, we have a large terrace with pergola and herb garden, a vegetable garden, an outdoor kitchen for the children, a large recreation area with workshop, and a large outdoor enclosure for rabbits and chickens.
  At 5:30 am, Markus gets up. Sometimes the children already want to get up at this time, and the day begins. Usually the children get up at 6:00 and get dressed. Markus leaves the house at 6:15. At 6:30 we have breakfast. Between 7:15 and 7:25 we leave for kindergarten. After breakfast or after the walk to kindergarten, you do an interesting activity with the children.
  Around 11:00 we start preparing lunch. The children often like to help with the cooking. Around 11:30 we have lunch together. Every Monday and Tuesday afternoon a friend of Flavio from kindergarten comes to our house. On Tuesday afternoon Flavio goes to kindergarten and Julian is at the playgroup. Every Wednesday afternoon the children are at their grandparents. On Thursday afternoon we go to the swimming pool.
  Around 5:00 pm Markus comes home. We have dinner together and discuss the events of the day. Around 7:00 pm the bedtime routine begins, and around 7:30 pm it is time to go to sleep. Once the children are in bed, it is still possible, if necessary, to discuss certain things calmly.
  We cultivate a positive and polite interaction, but also simple and direct.
  
  FR | Nous habitons dans une maison moderne et écoénergétique (norme maison passive).
  Un mode de vie durable est très important pour nous. En tant qu'invité(e), nous t'accueillons volontiers dans notre famille, et tu vivras avec nous. Les chambres à coucher sont utilisées presque exclusivement pour dormir. Notre vie de famille se déroule dans une zone de vie de style loft. Il y a également un grand filet suspendu dans la mezzanine, parfait pour lire.
  Nous avons deux salles de bains. En plus de la cuisine ouverte avec coin repas et de la zone de détente avec des espaces pour s'allonger, nous disposons d'une grande terrasse avec pergola et jardin d'herbes aromatiques, d'un potager, d'une cuisine extérieure pour les enfants, d'un grand espace de loisirs avec atelier, et d'un grand enclos extérieur pour les lapins et les poules.
  À 5h30, Markus se lève. Parfois, les enfants veulent déjà se lever à ce moment-là, et la journée commence. Habituellement, les enfants se lèvent à 6h00 et s'habillent. Markus quitte la maison à 6h15. À 6h30, nous prenons le petit-déjeuner. Entre 7h15 et 7h25, nous partons pour le jardin d'enfants. Après le petit-déjeuner ou après la promenade jusqu'au jardin d'enfants, tu fais une activité intéressante avec les enfants.
  Vers 11h00, nous commençons à préparer le déjeuner. Les enfants aiment souvent aider à cuisiner. Vers 11h30, nous déjeunons ensemble. Chaque lundi et mardi après-midi, une amie de Flavio du jardin d'enfants vient chez nous. Le mardi après-midi, Flavio va au jardin d'enfants et Julian est au groupe de jeu. Tous les mercredis après-midi, les enfants sont chez leurs grands-parents. Le jeudi après-midi, nous allons à la piscine.
  Vers 17h00, Markus rentre à la maison. Nous dînons ensemble et discutons des événements de la journée. Vers 19h00 commence la routine du coucher, et vers 19h30, c'est l'heure de dormir. Une fois les enfants couchés, il est encore possible, si nécessaire, de discuter calmement de certaines choses.
  Nous cultivons une interaction positive et polie, mais aussi simple et directe.
  
  DE | Wir wohnen in einem modernen energieeffizienten Haus (Passivhaus Standard). Ein Nachhaltiger Lebensstiel ist uns sehr wichtig. Als unser Gast nehmen wir dich gerne in unsere Familie auf und du wohnst zusammen mit uns. Die Schlafzimmer verwenden wir fast ausschliesslich zum Schlafen. Unser Familienleben findet in der Loft ähnlichen Wohnzone statt. Es gibt auch ein grosses Liegenetz in der Galerie das ideal zum Lesen ist. Wir haben zwei Badezimmer. Neben der offenen Küche mit Essbereich und dem Aufenthalts- und Liegebereich haben wir auch eine grosse Terrasse mit Pergola und Kräutergarten, einen Gemüsegarten, eine Kindermatschküche, ein grosser Hobbyraum mit Werkstatt, ein grosses Aussen Gehege für Kaninchen und Hühner.
  Um 5:30Uhr steht Markus auf. Manchmal wollen die Kinder dann auch schon aufstehen und der Tag startet. Normalerweise stehen die Kinder um 6:00Uhr auf und ziehen sich an. Markus verlässt um 6:15Uhr das Haus. Um 6:30 essen wir Frühstück. Zwischen 7:15Uhr und 7:25Uhr machen wir uns auf den Weg in den Kindergarten. Nach dem Frühstück oder nach dem Spaziergang zum Kindergarten machst du etwas Spannendes mit den Kindern. Ab ca. 11Uhr startet die Vorbereitung für das Mittagessen. Die Kinder helfen meistens gerne beim Kochen.
  Ab ca. 11:30 essen wir zusammen zu Mittag. Jeden Montag- und Dienstag Nachmittag ist eine Kindergartenfreundin von Flavio bei uns. An Dienstagnachmittag hat Flavio Kindergarten und Julian ist in der Spielgruppe. Jeden Mittwochnachmittag sind die Kinder bei den Grosseltern. Am Donnerstagnachmittag gehen wir ins Schwimmbad.
  Gegen 17:00Uhr kommt Markus nach Hause. Wir essen gemeinsam das Abendessen und besprechen die Geschehnisse des Tages.
  Gegen 19:00 folgt die Bettroutine und gegen 19:30 ist Schlafenszeit. Wenn die Kinder schlafen, ist bei Bedarf nochmals Zeit einzelne Dinge in Ruhe zu besprechen.
  Wir pflegen eine positive und höfliche, aber auch unkomplizierte und direkte Umgangsform.

  EN| Although we live in a quiet and rural environment, Zurich (the largest city in Switzerland) and Bern (the capital) are about 1 hour away by car. By train, it will take you about 1.5 hours to reach Zurich, Bern, Basel or Lucerne.
  We are happy to give you travel tips or take you with us on our family outings.
  We love to laugh and are open to experiences. Switzerland is a small country with short distances, which makes it easy to travel and discover.
  
  FR| Bien que nous vivions dans un environnement calme et rural, Zurich (la plus grande ville de Suisse) et Berne (la capitale) se trouvent à environ 1 heure en voiture. En train, il te faudra environ 1,5 heure pour rejoindre Zurich, Berne, Bâle ou Lucerne.
  Nous serons ravis de te donner des conseils de voyage ou de t’emmener avec nous lors de nos sorties en famille.
  Nous aimons rire et sommes ouverts aux expériences. La Suisse est un petit pays avec de courtes distances, ce qui facilite les déplacements et les découvertes.
  
  DE | Obwohl wir sehr ruhig und ländlich wohnen, liegen Zürich (die grösste Stadt der Schweiz) und Bern (die Hauptstadt) nur ca. 1Stunde mit dem Auto entfernt. Mit dem Zug hast du ca. 1.5 Stunden nach Zürich, Bern, Basel oder Luzern.
  Wir geben dir sehr gerne Reisetipps oder nehmen dich auf unsere Familienausflüge mit.
  Wir lachen gerne und sind offen für Experimente. Die Schweiz ist ein kleines Land mit kurzen Distanzen.
