It's the end of the year and there are still some things on my to-do-list which are very dear to me - for example writing a review for Annika. In total I got to spent about five weeks at Annikas place during this summer (after my first stay I decided to come back a couple of weeks later as I loved it so much :) ). Workwise I did many different
… read more things at Annikas place and usually she suggested me tasks and I could choose the ones I wanted to do. In the end I did a lot of gardening like weeding and harvesting, I reorganized the kitchen and her pottery studio and I cleaned up her barn with another volunteer which has been a massive but fun project. I also got to cook a lot what I really enjoyed :) Besides the work there was plenty of time to explore the beautiful countryside. You can go for refreshing swims in the nearby lake or have a traditional Swedish fika in a cute local café during the weekends. Annika also showed me a lot in the area, so I got to see nearby cities like Avesta, Falun and Gävle and she helped me to improve my Swedish too. Annika is such wonderful human being, a huge bundle of joy and incredibly great to talk to. Meeting her definitely left a big impression on me. I'm so so happy for everyone who will get to know her! Best place to feel at home without being at home! Dear Annika, thank you for an exciting, relaxed, warm and trusting time in your home at the top of beautiful Dalarna län. Most relaxing workaway. Annika is positive and happy all the time, she was also always grateful for everything I did. I was helping around the garden, cutting and stacking the firewood, reorganizing the barn, cutting grass and I tried to clean the underground food storage with limited success. Work was flexible and free time plentiful. Area is
… read more good for people who like nature and quiet life, I could use the bikes, go swimming in a lake or just relax at home. Also, when I was there Annika often took us on road trips to "nearby" cities or to a beach.
