    Description

Hi there! 😊 We are an Iberian family of three: Carmen (ES) [38], João (PT) [41], and our little daughter Maf [4]. A couple of years ago, we followed our dream of embracing a lifestyle more connected to nature and community, purchasing a small piece of land in the heart of northwest Portugal.

Now, we are on a journey to care for and revitalize this tiny family farm (2.5 acres) in a sustainable and meaningful way. We would love to share this experience with like-minded individuals who appreciate nature, slow living, and hands-on activities.

We are still learning every day about sustainable living, regenerative agriculture, and self-sufficiency. This is an ongoing process, and we love exchanging ideas, experimenting with new techniques, and growing together. If you're also on a journey towards a more sustainable lifestyle, we’d be happy to share what we know and learn from each other along the way!

    What kind of help?
The tasks are flexible and depend on your interests and skills. You can take part in:

🌱 Gardening – Planting, watering, harvesting, and experimenting with organic techniques.
🐓 Animal Care – Feeding, cleaning, and simply spending time with our friendly animals.
🍃 GeneralMaintenance – Keeping outdoor spaces tidy, assisting with small repairs, and helping us on the land.

We value creativity and love when guests contribute something special, whether it’s a small handmade feature or a new idea to enhance the farm’s charm.

    Where will you stay?
We are currently restoring an old stone house to preserve its history and give it a new purpose. While the renovation is ongoing, we offer:

🏕️ Camping accommodation (we provide tents and bedding) with access to bathroom and kitchen facilities in an auxiliary building.
🚐 Space for campervans – A flat area, ideal for parking and exploring the nature around us.

    What do we offer?
🌻 A natural environment to call home – A respectful, friendly, and welcoming space where you will feel comfortable and at ease.
🚲 Bicycles – Explore the beautiful surrounding area, visit local landmarks, and enjoy nature on two wheels.
🍲Homegrown produce – Enjoy organic food harvested from our farm, some of which may be frozen, and feel free to cook it yourself whenever you like.
🌍 Cultural exchange – A unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Portuguese culture, learn new skills, and share knowledge and experiences with us.

Our farm is home to two draft horses (Lola & Sabor) who are part of our family, as well as chickens, ducks, an adorable cat, and our playful dog, Mica. If you enjoy animals, you’ll find companionship and joy in spending time with them during your stay!

So primarily, we are looking for someone or a couple who are independent, kind, respectful, easygoing and who'd enjoy being around with farm animals.

While we welcome short-term help, we’re especially interested in building relationships with respectful, sociable, and independent people who might see themselves staying longer, fostering a deeper connection and making a meaningful contribution to the project

    How will we interact?
We understand that every traveler has different preferences when it comes to socializing. Some enjoy spending more time with their hosts, while others prefer a more independent experience. We respect that! There is no strict schedule, and the interaction will naturally depend on your preferences and the length of your stay.

That being said, we love creating moments of connection and would be happy to offer activities such as:

🌿 Exploring the beautiful surroundings together – From forest walks to hidden gems nearby.
🍲 A communal dinner at least once a week – A chance to share food, stories, and laughter.
🏞️ Excursions to local landmarks – We are located near some beautiful sites in the region, and we’d love to take you on excursions to explore the history and natural beauty of the area.
🐴 Learning About Animal Traction – If you're interested, we’d love to introduce you to the respectful and modern way of working with horses for light farm tasks and land management.

If you are ready to immerse yourself in Portuguese culture, learn new skills, and contribute to the implementation and development of an organic family farm, feel free to contact today to join us for an unforgettable experience in Portugal! 🌿

P.S. We ask you to provide at least one reference and If possible, it would be preferable to have a video call to discuss the details before your arrival.
