Today there was a visit with a mama Moose and a brand new baby feeding in the marsh out our window...thats why we live here , in the bush..the animals, birds, critters and the peace and quiet the wilderness brings.
The gardens are planted, we are working on the gardens, setting up the sweat lodge and organizing upcoming events. We have a astrology event that will include a sweat lodge and astronomy evening in July. We are also hosting a
"Human be Herd" workshop, this will be working with horses and the interaction with us and them.
All of us are involved with helping with a music festival. There will be some musicians from Australia staying with us for a while. This should be fun!!!
July, August, September are really busy months here.
Maggie is the herbalist who lives here and makes medicine, participates at the local farmers market every Friday from May- October and many festivals in the area. She will be having a few herbal walks and medicine making classes. Planting, growing, harvesting and selling these medicinal herbs, is a big job and she is looking for a helper for this year and years to come. This is a great opportunity to learn about herbs and plants and we now have a studio that is dedicated to making medicine!!
Our place is located just outside of Horsefly, British Columbia on 120 acres of wilderness. Nestled up beside Belles Lake were moose, wolves, coyotes, lynx, loons, eagles are common sight here. Nearby there are numerous lakes and rivers to explore. We are working on establishing a organic sustainable farm and wellness centre were folks can come learn, share, grow and explore .
We are planning workshops this year, so far there will be an astrology workshop, plant walks and teachings, a womens gathering, a few music house concerts to name a few.
One of our local residents is an amatuer astromner who has built an observatory where one can check out the stars, we have one of the darkest skies around. Bill has observering nights once a month.
Music is also a big part here and we have on going music nights. Bill and Maggie are actively involved in our annual music festival and encourage music making whenever possible.
This year we will build a shower house, an outside kitchen, expand the garden, continue to clear trails, and work on establishing a raspberry patch. Bill has created a studio where he can record live music
